Granted WOW isn't for the type of comparison I was trying to visualize. I've never played it...but COD4 is a different story. Also have MS Combat fighter pilot sim.....which if I can marry the heli's sims folder into MS Combat as an add on (much like their pretty realistic flight sims) I would love to hunt Belt CP's and T-Rex's with a P-51 or Mosquito

no offense coffin, but how did WOW come into the picture? yeah it doesn't take anything to run that LOL.
i do agree on one thing though. the Wii is fun , but thats it. none of the consoles can compare to a good PC though. i've played them all, i prefer the PC overall. ;D

By the way...9800x2 is a gig or RAM memory...not a tera ;D(darn good drugs in the hospital) Mc...if you were to get an advanced system you will never look back and you'll thank yourself for not "just getting by". Todays cards have so much more tech installed in them that they will cost a little more than the AGP, but pack a hell of alot more punch. Hooking up to you 52 is gona be the example. The picture you'll get, some what better, but still marginal with the AGP as compaired to a full blown Phys-x GForce card x2 (SLI) it the difference of nite and day. I have three 265's in Tri-SLI configuration. There isn't any combination, up to a movie screen, that I couldn't run and obtain HD. Just the diff in what they are producing now as compaired to the tech at the time of AGP graphics cards.......a big canyon. (don't forget just the interface alone went from minor bandwith to major bandwith from AGP to Exspress PCI PCI-E) I would still love just to have the royaltys of his EA franchise. (tiger) Now....Fergie. I didn't forget about you. Programs design for this day have very lucrative resource usage and have resource speed to match most high end games. Compair the modern day game of WoW to the original when it was first put out. Thats why they specify on the box: System Requirements. The original game required 512Mb minimume. Today it's like 1546 or something Mbs. And in most cases, the graphics has to have at least 512Mb on card just to load the game. Compair system requirements between Tiger 08 and Tiger 06. You'll be shocked. Thats how it came into the conversation  |

Fergie....COD4 has been fun. There were a couple of areas like when me and the Cpt were behind the connex and we had to be very quiet to get out. But really, cod and this B-17 flying fortress game are the only ones I've played. More into flight sims than the actual games. The B-17 was cool (dad was a bombadeir with the 15th/396th/816th and I've got photo's (B&W of course) ofsome of the missions and his B-17. ) That took you thru briefing and into an 8 hour mission were you could try any and all positions on the aircraft. The Nordan Bombsite was pretty authentic and really detailed with the bomb drift and tot meters, and the "I've got the plane" doors open thing.
Off subject by alot. Mac, you don't have to spend alot to get a decent machine. Coffin? did I hear you say you enjoyed the hole on a Blackhawk while in NOE mode?

i was a 60 gunner in korea when i was stationed there, and loved the hell hole doors open mid summer. was the best dam roller coaster ride ever, cause there the pilots fly NAP OF THE EARTH everywhere, and they do it at the NAP none of this 60 foot ceiling crap they do in the states, but 30 foot woo who....... and in korea we never wore the shoulder straps just the lap belt so i was always hanging out the door on turns lol....

beedm... stil love COD4, i've been playing tom clancy HAWX, laying down some air support for ground units, destorying enemy ground units,navel units, and some dog fighting. very nice if you have a good flight stick ;D

Coffin....I knew you were good stock!!!! An chong-ri and the 213th, 271st, 3 tours total between 74 and 83. Flight Engineer on the Chinook. Sat on tool box around P-73. I loved the hole...Did alot of load calling and could winch myself down thru the hole with the rescue hoist. Sat on the door durring NOE. And I love NOE. Also put the ramp level and sit on it. The only thing about a chinook....you had to develope a love of Hydralic Fluid. ;D  ;D Fergie? Air support of ground troops  I've got to get that ;D COD has only one section of a gunner in a C-130 Spectre, and I can't get enough of that ;D ;D ;D Any more I need to know about in those scenereos? |

COD4 i think i know which one your talking about, you may have seen them allready, but there is some gas trucks & propane tanks on the ground. you take those out and it will take out any enemy ground troops in the area, of course you want to take out those RPG's on the rooftops ;D
