And Ernie,,,,if you are staying with the external BEC,,then you have to disconnect the red(power) wire from the ESCs throttle wire. Just pull the red wire pin from the connector,,,fold it back and tape it!

Welp, got a BIG box today ;D There was a slightly smaller box inside. And inside that... I put about an hour into it and got the rotor head and tail gear together. Elk,was your kit like,"sorta" put together?Everything loose and sloppy?I had to take it all back apart to put it back together again.Pain in the ass. They should just let the owner put it all together IMO Taking a break and may do a little more.I can't build the frame without the Scorpion.I need to cut the frame for the motor and then assemble the frame "around" the motor I guess I could put the TT system together.

Crap Ern, you just might get your 600 in the air before I do. David said he was going to send me a new ESC, BEC and 650L motor and I should see it this week. After that, I just need to solder the connectors, plug the stuff in, and try to fly. Hopefully it won't start on fire this time.
The heli-chair looks awesome, but a lot of work. Is there someone who does mods for those things? That's be a great way to prepare for a real pilots license.
Oh, and you need some help with math and physics? I've got a bachelors in electrical engineering, so I might be able to help...anything in particular? Mechanical stuff is not as intuitive to me, but I can do it. Let me know and I'll give it my best shot Ern.
Can't wait to see the videos you put together once that thing is in the air, it's gonna be pretty sick.
Well, I'm off to a Les Claypool concert, later.

That is one awesome looking kit!
I must say that after buying and building up an Align 500 head (pulled from an ESP), that I agree 100% with you on the quality. It is WAY beyond Exi/Copterx in smoothness and preciseness of the machining. I also don't understand why these folks partially assemble parts that need to be pulled back apart again. The Exi I maybe understand, as its parts probably need to be assembled to know if you have a bad part! They do use random locktite on the screws. But I really like the fact that Align seems to be much more apart. It sure lets you have piece of mind to know that you put it together right.
I have not tried the Align head yet. I crashed the 500 and rebuilt the Exi head with Align parts, so it is a lot smoother than it was. It seems to fly about the same, though. As soon as I crash that hard again, then I'll try the Align head. ==== Man a 600 sure sounds awesome.... Is there a way to buy one without any Align electronics? I have only seen them with motors and bec's or esc's at least.
I can't wait to hear about what you think of that beast. I have read mixed reviews. Some folks absolutely love the 600 over all else. Others seem to prefer a 500 for it's agility and speed.
After watching Elk's videos, his 600 sure looks agile enough!!! Kent

Sorry to hear about a crash there Kent I'll keep posting the 600's progress. The motor I have coming is one of those blade bending beasts the guys like Szabo use. Welp, anyway,I put the TT stuff together. It's EXACTLY like the 500's.It took almost three minutes.I lost the screw set for a couple minutes ;D

Looks pretty cool Ern. New stuff to play with! I agree that they would be better off just sending everything unassembled, that way you don't waste any time undoing stuff just to reassemble it.

Yea Ernie,,,,you MUST take apart those items that came assembled. I think Align does that because of feedback that they had in the past,,,folks not understanding or doing it wrong,,,you can see how it's supposed to be this way. And,,,EVERYTHING in the box has machine oil on it,,,over it,,in it. I used a q-tip,,,stripped most the cotton off and run it down all the bolt holes so the lock-tite would take.
LOL,,,,you won't be able to wait,,,,,you'll throw the Align motor in and fly it,,,,no biggie swapping it out when the Scorp gets here. LOL
Flying Friday Ernie?? ;D

I may have to split the frame to get the Scorpion in so I think I'll wait a few days to get it and see. I am however going to use the Align ESC until the new one arrives ;D

LOL...yeah,I was thinking the same thing but the guys at Innov8tive swear the 100amp Align is more than enough for the 4025. When I get the Scorpion ESC I may try it a while without a BEC. That 2S lipo and the BEC itself is extra weight after all. I have never had a separate BEC or a secondary pack so the thought of losing power in flight never crosses my mind. Why start worrying about it now? I got my servos, gyro, main battery and charger today. LMAO ;D ;D ;D That 5000mAh lipo borders on just silly big.lol... I'm pacing circles in the floor wanting to finish the build tonight I guess I could remove the bottom and loosen the sides to install the Scorpion or just cut enough out of the frame to install it through the side.lol... We'll see

Ern, it sounds like David had some sort of disagreement with the guy who did his website, so the guy pulled his site and e-mail address. I'm going to try and get my roommate to put together something for him. He plans to get another site up and going again eventually though. You can still e-mail him at davidkotulic@aol.com

Oh crap. I would have bought from him if I'd known.Oh well Anywho,I'm weak... LOL...It's just barely together.A few screws and a well placed tap and it'll fall to pieces. I just couldn't resist seeing it together ;D
