I've heard and read soooooooo much about this freakin heli that I just had to order one ;D I even got it from xheli.com Anyone else think that's wierd?lol.... The plastic version is priced at $39 and the CNC upgrade head and tail is also $39. So at $78($96 shipped)that is the cheapest combo they have and also identicle to their more expensive combos.Hmmm The build should start and finish next week.Prolly same day.lol... This may even be a good place to store my Helicommand ;D

BTW...what is the most popular gyro and digi servo for this heli? And where did you buy it inside the bottom 48? Remember...cheap ;D I'm using Hitec HS45's for cyclic since I already have three new ones. Not real great servos but plenty adequate

Yea, Ern, they have a lot of CNC knock off stuff at the devil's store for a pretty tempting price. I already had my CopterX or I would have been tempted. BTW, as soon as I get around to putting the new CF Align frame on my EXI, it will have only a canopy and skids from the original. Guess it won't really be and EXI any more I put the Hitec HS5065 MG on my tail, but wish I would have gotten something a little faster.

Well, you have to put that in the context of my experience, too. I've never had a faster servo so I am assuming it will make a difference. I would trust your judgement long before I would trust mine... I hear the Aligns are good servos.

Hey Mckrackin, that is a great deal for that heli !!
The only thing I would suggest is ONLY get Align spares for all of the shafts, gears and flybars. The Exi shafts can come prebent and they are really soft. The gears tend to come warped, too. Some of the bearings are not very good, either, so when they start to get slop, Align bearings are better.
With the G401B, they hold great, but you need to let them acclimate before running them, or else they will drift on you. I just put the heli outside about 15 minutes before I fly. That's good enough. I had one fail, but it was from DealExtreme. The one I got from CNC has been great. These setup the same as the Futaba 401.
I was running a 2216 metal geared digital from HK on the Exi SE and it worked fine. I have since disassembled that heli, so that servo is in the box along with a spare for some future project. I tried an HS65HB on the tail and it didn't work very well.
I can't wait to see how yours turns out!
I have an extra Alpha motor and Volcano 30a esc if you need em. Kent

Kent,do you have a pinion for the Alpha?10T maybe or close? If so,I'll buy them from you.
I have an E-Sky brushless for a HBK2. 3800kv I think. And a Mystery 30A ESC. Do you think these will lift the EXI? If not,can you use them?Maybe a trade?
Our ESC's are about identicle so maybe I could trade the E-Sky brushless and an Excaliber 7.4 2S lipo for your Alpha 400 and pinion.
Sump'm to ponder ;D

With the Alpha, I was running a 13t. I know I don't have a 10 or 11t, but I might have a 12.
These Alpha's do have pretty good power. The 13t will give you right around 3k headspeed at 90% throttle at midstick. I'm getting that with the -8 scorpion and a 12t.
I'll take a look for the smaller pinion...
Oh, and I don't know about that motor you have.

If that Esky motor is 3800kv and weighs 58g, it's for the Belt CP and will handle the EXI just fine. The only thing you'll have to do is adapt the motor terminals to something compatible. They're an odd size. The Mystery 30A ESC is similar to the HW and Volcano. It just can't be programmed with the HW or Volcano card...I tried.

I know a purple shirt could get a guy killed in the wrong neighborhood around here. ;D ;D Ern, can you record that sound? I tried pronouncing several times and it didn't quite sound right ;D BTW, I am running an 11T on my Alpha. I got it from the devil . 3.0 mm shaft. I am probably going to up to the 13T soon.
