Here it is;
My camera gal still has the 'zoom fetish',,I just can't talk her out of it. So,,you can't get a good feel of what I'm doing. I did a couple elevator tic-tocs and a couple aileron tic-tocs. At one point I over played it and had to do an inverted climb out. This is a whole new heli with these blades,,,you can tell how quick it is in the beginning,,,I did a power-punch and Glenda couldn't keep up LOL.
FUN STUFF!!

WOW - did you shoot it with your IR after the flight - them blades sure put a pull on the motor ;D = VIC Wow,,,,yes I did,,,,now I don't know what to do. With the stock blades,,the motor was running about 135 degrees on landing, right after this flight it read 175 degrees. I have to find out just what is a safe operating temp for this motor. Somebody here told me that 160 was the point the motor starts breaking down. I'm going to fly it once more today with those blades but take it easy and see what happens. HELP!!!! I have to get a grip on this before I toast the motor. As much as I would like to replace it with a scorpion, I have already spent way too much money on this hobby in a short 3 months. I have a hunting trip to Montana in Sept, I need to get ready for that! So,,,,I'm searching for an answer to this motor heat,,,anyone have an idea where to go for help! Thx! Randy

i would want to cut the heat / motor pull - so i would recurve my transmitter - just say 100% is at 10 go back to 8 - the magnets get weaker with to much heat - search for magnets / heat ;D = VIC

I can't find any heat info on the Align motors but the Scorpion motors are OK at 300 degrees soooo..........

Plus Scorpion motors are far more efficient and so don't generate nearly as much heat! I couldn't touch the 500L Align motor after a run. The Scorpion now runs cool to the touch!
MUCH cooler running, more efficient, more power. You can't go wrong! Kent

Finally got some of my pinions for my Scorpion today. It came down HOT.I think hotter than the Align and that's with a 15T. Now I don't know if I'll use the 16 or 17T or not.
The ESC was noticably cooler though.Not near the power draw as the Align.
I'll at least try the 17T and if it stays at or under 200 degrees,I'll keep it ;D

I think all these motor need a little break-in period. My ESC runs very cool now,,,,it lands about 7 degrees over ambien temp. I ran the Radix blades again this morning,,,just a simple 'cruise'n around' flight. It was 145 degrees,,,,not so bad,,,I 'think'.
I've been all over trying to find out about the temp limits,,,,everyone, everywhere, bitch about these Align motors running hot,,,but it doesn't seem like many, at all, ever burn up. One guy on the helifreak forum said he tried to burn one up so he could justify a new motor,,,he puffed two packs trying,,LOL
I'll just run it 'til it granades,,,,,I've been oiling it about every 4 flights.
Ernie,,,,,I'd bet once you get the scorpion the way you want it,,,and if you put on some Radix blades,,,,your 600 would every bit as quick as your 500 was.
I put the Align blades back on,,,,,I'm not man enough for the Radix yet,,,LOL. That,,,and I'm really overdue for a big crash,,,I'll trash the Align blades first!! ;D
I can't believe I've made it this far without nose-diving it!
I fully expect to crash the 500 once a week!! I'm going to use it for extreme 3D practice!
