What's this about no comments or questions in these threads? That makes no sense. The cool part to me about this section is it's about one's own single heli.
If there is something stupid that someone did, there should be no problem commenting on it!!
I don't (won't) go searching through elsewhere for a question to anything here.
Just my opinion. === That said, I would recommend trying +/- 10 collective and +/- 6, up to 8 on cyclic. You can still do 3d with those settings, and it will tame the beast some.
I tried to run 13 collective once, and it was too much. I think the bigger the beast, the more throw it needs to do stuff. Best, Kent
PS: If this is out of line, pleast delete it. Kent

We might run out of board space ;D ;D

Well, BT, YOU are who has to do a comparison now!
All I have left are a few CF blade sets and several of these fiberglass sets.
The Exi/FRP blades are awesome and behave almost the same as CF blades of high quality! These are fairly robust, but will come apart with ground hits.
Only YOU know about how durable the Exceed CF blades are!!! I never crashed those!
Any plastic blades I sent to you should be burned at the stake. They might work for a while, though... Kent

Kent Exceeds tracked great (with some toying) until I crashed No word on the black and yellow ones yet. They behave well I should have worded my comment a little better though. I was actually wanting to know what Ern thought of the characteristics of the EXI compared to a selection of his other ones.

It's the best 450 heli I've had so far.Very very smooth and responsive. The Hitec HS45 are doing great. I replaced the Mystery gyro with the Dynam and it's doing a perfect job.No drift. The Align DS420 servo on the tail runs kinda warm but not hot.
It is grossly underpowered though. 3D is not even a consideration with this motor/pinion. I'd try a bigger pinion but I'm afraid I'd start cooking stuff.
You know what's funny? Since I finished the EXI and got it flying, the 600 hasn't left the ground.lol....I'm flying about six batteries a day with the EXI though ;D

I find myself flying the 450 about the same as the 500! I thought that once I had a 500 that the 450 would collect dust. Such is NOT the case for me! I love em both.
Yeah, the Alpha motor is not super strong. It is stronger than one I got from Hobby City though.
Comparison with the Scorpion 2216-8:
Alpha/13t pinion 100% throttle: 3,000 rpm Scorpion 13t pinion 100% throttle: 3,400 rpm (higher headspeed than I like to run) Scorpion 12t pinion 100% throttle: 3,000 rpm (WAY more punch than the Alpha)
I never ran the Alpha with less than a 13t pinion. Kent

Should be a 13t. I don't recall having anything else. The Alpha I still have has a 13t. Kent
