My Scorpion motor didn't come with any mounting hardware. Did you buy that separately at your LHS?

Akent, I had tried Align dampers but they are narrower than the original EXI dampers so when I went to tighten up the screws holding the blade grips on, there was slop. Did yours have slop allowing the grips to move in/out? I'd expect centrifugal forces to pull them out during flight but w/o mechanically centering the spindle, I'm afraid of death vibrations. I did not put in an align spindle at that time, I was wondering if you did the spindle and dampers at the same time and that would be the trick? I'm still using the EXI dampers but have not been flying it cause I had my AR6200 go wacky on me and it slammed to the ground a couple weeks ago like it lost Tx control. I put the AR6200 in a 450 and have been flying it to test it.

Hi Dditch. I don't have any slop with the Align dampers. I am running the Align feathering (spindle) shaft, but it is identical to the Exi one in dimensions. I don't think I changed them together. This was many crashes ago and I just don't remember. Sorry! I wonder which dampers I got vs the ones you have?? I don't have another package of them with a part number, and I don't remember the part number. I just ordered them one day from Helidirect. I do remember that much.
That's sure weird that yours have slop. Humm... Kent

Mckrackin, are the grey ones stiffer or softer than the black ones?
From the looks of things, the Flasher = Exi = CopterX with the 500 mechanical stuff...

Yes. I drilled new front holes about 5/16" lower on the frame. The back mounts screw into the long slot without drilling. Before you do that, you might want to check the fit of the batteries. The Turnigy 2600's don't need that done. I only did that for the 3300 Zippies. They were a tight fit with the canopy. Kent Here's the link for that mod: www.rchelitalk.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=buildsmods&action=display&thread=1357

Oh cool. Just bought the Turnigy's so I won't even bother drillin' yet.
Just mounted the the cyclics and the elevator servos. Gotta hook up be belt before I mount the gyro.
Man I'm so close to flying this thing.

OK, I got everything set up and I plugged her in for the first time and hit two new issues:
1. All my servos are buzzing
2. Can't enter configuration mode on the gyro and/or get the rudder to respond. Servo is good, I plugged it in directly to the receiver just to be sure.
Bummin' man.
Any help would be really cool. I following Kent's build log with the exception that I used Align DS520 servo's for the cyclic (not the DS510 servos).
Thanks!

Did you power it up and allow the servos to center before you put on the servo horns?

Did you power it up and allow the servos to center before you put on the servo horns? Gabe, is this it? You need to have the servo arms off when you first turn them on. They could be in any position. Buzzing is bad. I don't know why the gyro could not have entered it's setup mode. Unless something is wrong in the radio setup. Maybe if you could post a description or pictures of how it is all setup? Kent
