Just ordered the Flasher 500 kit with all aluminum head and tail and torque tube drive. Also ordered two 2650mAh 6S 30C Turnigy batteries. Scorpion 3026 1400kv w/15T pinion. Align 60amp ESC. I'm undecided on servos right now.I may buy them local.
I still have a Spektrum AR7000 RX and an Align GP750 gyro I'll use.
Anywho,I should start getting stuff in a few days.

I think you'll be happy with that Ernie,,,,my Flasher 450 is heads and tails better than the Genesis I have. The Genesis is history,,,the frame is weak and I just can't patch it up anymore.
I saw your listing,,,,then I spent a couple hours looking at my bills and my upcoming hunting trip to Montana,,,I made up my mind to grab your 600 but when I got back here you had sold it,,,what that take,,,4 hours,,,LOL. The motors and electronics were worth way more than $500. I snoozed and I loosed!!
I'm still waiting on the Scorp 90 amp ESC to finish my 500. Once I get that off the ground,,,I'm done with the 450s,,,,I hate those little buggers.
You getting the HC looked into? You might as well sell it,,,you don't need it anymore. I'm confident enough to fly my 500 without it. I still have the Co-Pilot II,,,,but if my 500 handles well enough,,I'll sell it. Sell off all the 450 stuff too.
Hope you get what you want,,,you are an impulsive dude,,,,,never know what Ernie is doing next,,,LOL. I like that!
Oh,,,,I have my floats for the 600,,,way cool,,,I need a few days to fit and install,,,,then it's fishing time!! ;D
Good luck on the Flasher!!

Thanks Elk. It's not as impulsive as it sounds. The decision to sell the 600 had been made. It's just a shame I had to sell it wrecked. I'll probably send the HC in. They returned my email.I'm waiting on instructions on where to send it now. I think I'll keep it too.I'll tuck it inside the Flasher to use for FFF. I can actually get forward movement with a 500 here at home.lol...
Also, with the Flasher,I want to slowly get all the polished aluminum goodies helihobby has to offer ;D

Dam. I missed it too!
I have really been thinking about a 600 class. I would really like to build up a larger heli with a scale fuselage. I really enjoy motoring around slow with FFF thrown in.
I also have been eyeballing VERY HEAVILY the Esmart. They are on sale now with an all metal and carbon fiber heli, with a motor for $300. Parts are available again, too! Humm... I have not pulled the trigger yet, but almost did tonight. Then I started looking at blade costs. Dayum. Kent

I saw that Flasher 500, Mckrackin! It looks awesome!
I know you are very fond of the rear shaft drive on these, but I quite honestly don't understand why, yet. My 500 takes forever to spin down, and when I have smacked things with the heli and tail, the belt stuff just doesn't do anything. It's usually still good to go. I keep reading stories where just mowing a little grass with the shaft driven tail causes it to strip.
I really need to order one of those Flasher shaft drives, though, to see what you mean. I saw where those are $60 for the kit! I hope the quality is reasonable. I think you'll know soon enough!
Elk, that's too bad that you don't like the 450. I LOVE mine! Maybe if you play with tweaking it, you could calm it down? My T450 is as calm as the 500 in idle 1, maybe a little calmer in fact. In idle 2 it's a beast. But I put the flybar weight back on the outside and it's very smooth. I know you don't like flybar weights Mckrackin, but on the 450, I think they are necessary, unless you are a pro. At least for me they are far better to fly with. I do not run any weights on the 500. It is smooth enough without em.
My 500 is actually MORE of a beast now on idle 2. Dam thing blows the socks off of the 450 in every aspect except for piro rates. The 450 is every bit as smooth as the 500, except that it is blown around more in the wind and reacts quicker to large stick movements.
I'll do my best to take some videos soon. The piro rate of the 450 is stupid, if turned up all the way. The 500 is not far behind!
I can't wait to hear what you think of the Flasher 500, Mckrackin!! Best, Kent

Why you guys taming the 450's down? I went with the longest servo horns I could find and the absolute max cyclic pitch I could get without binding. I ran it up till the swash was tight against the shaft and backed it off just until it was clear. All servos are set at 123% in the TX. It now has 13 degrees of pitch and prolly over 8 degrees of cyclic. I still need to check it.I guess I have time now.lol...

I'm looking into my crystal ball now: In the not too distant future I see certain posters (ernie) not getting enough crayziness with 450's and buying a gaui or align 200-250 and cranking the bejezus out of it. Gonna make a 450 look like a blimp. ;D
Happy landings

Funny 19 ;D I did order servos for the Flasher 500 today. I went with DS520's all around. I also got some Align CF tail blades and the bigger Align CF flybar paddles.
I'll give the GF main blades a chance at least.lol...If they suck, the 430mm Raddix are in stock every day ;D

Hey, I was able to get 13 degrees of pitch and 8 cyclic before the servo arms hit the gear on the 450.
The thing is crazy with those settings. The motor would bog with full punch outs, but it was a rocket. So, I backed off to 11 on the pitch and I left it at 8 on the cyclic. Punches are back to no bog, but seem just as fast. Flips with 8 degrees of cyclic are considerably quicker! I like it!
I think I'll enable dual rates at some point. I still really enjoy just flying around in SFF and FFF and with the higher cyclic, it is harder to be smooth.
But, thanks for suggesting that, Mckrackin! It's still amazing how adjustable these things are. Kent

Good choice one the DS520s all around Ern, I'm really liking them in the HK-T500. I'm liking the 500 size in general. I'm a little more relaxed with it than I am with the 600 because it's not nearly as large and intimidating. Don't get me wrong, I love the Trex600, but the HK500 is a lot of fun too.
