Ernie,,I just ordered a set of 430mm Radix blades,,,ebay $54.99,,free shipping. I'll use the stock blades first then check the Radix. FINALLY,,,,I got the ESC for my 500. I'll have it airbourne maybe thursday. I'll video the maiden voyage!! HaHa I got my ESC before you ;D Mine will likely be flightworthy on Thursday too.Depends on the mail.lol... I got the Flasher today and it is really nice.Seriously nice. The TT does seem a little chincey compared to Align but no biggie.Easy upgrade later if it's needed. I LOVE the look of the GF frame compared to the CF one on the Align. The rotor head and tail gear are identicle to Align minus the "Word" Align.lol.... The FG canopy is busted up I've emailed and asked for a new one. Welp,my soldering iron is hot! Gotta go ;D

Good choice one the DS520s all around Ern, I'm really liking them in the HK-T500. I'm liking the 500 size in general. I'm a little more relaxed with it than I am with the 600 because it's not nearly as large and intimidating. Don't get me wrong, I love the Trex600, but the HK500 is a lot of fun too. I prefer the 500 to all I've flown. I wonder if I'll notice the difference in speed on the servos.

Now that the torque tube is assembled,I can't tell any difference between it and the Align ones.Hmmm. Got my soldering done. The Deans male and the female 4mm's for the motor leads. Getting there. It's sort of like cheating though. This thing is EXACTLY like the Trex 500.

Yea,,,I really got hosed on the ESC. I was working with Lucien for the Scorpion 6-cell 90 amp. Scorpion kept telling Lucien 'anyday',,,,'it's in the next shipment',,,,'ok,,next shipment'. After 3 weeks of this trash, I ordered the Castle Creations HV85. I don't think the Align 60 amp would handle my setup,,,I'm using some whicked high-draw servos- Futuba S9257s all around.
I thought you'd be happy with the Flasher Ernie,,,I was impressed with the 450 too.
OK,,,,,,,thurday,,,,,we'll both post videos of 1st hover!!!

I've still got parts coming from all over the world but Wednesday and Thursday is the expected date on everything. A 12T and 13T pinion came with the Flasher but they feel like I could crush them with my fingers.lol. I'll wait on the new pinions I ordered.14T and 15T. My batteries have shipped and I paid the $25 for EMS shipping.Soooooo........ Servos,Hmmm,I ordered them kinda late.To be honest,I forgot I hope to be doing a test hover on Thursday and some badass 3D this weekend ;D

This is great stuff! TWO new 500 builds!
I sure hope both of you take LOTS of pictures and do some build threads. The Flasher 500 looks very similar to the Exi/CopterX/other brands. But the frame is different and the others don't offer TT tails. Humm?
I've done that before with stuff accidentally in the trash, Mckrackin!
Cool! Kent

I ain't gonna make the deadline. I forgot Deans plugs.Just ordered them a minute ago.
My batteries came today.Only thing left is servos and Deans.
Kent, not taking many pix because it is seriously exactly like a Trex 500 ESP.
I'll get some here in a tic anyway though. I'm leaving it kind of apart so the servos will go in easy.

I actually took the CF frame from the Trex stuff I bought from you and overlayed it on the Exi 500 CF frame. They were exactly identical! Every little detail. They looked like they were actually from the same supplier. Even the CF grains were identical. It would be really interesting to hear if your 500 box was the same as the box that I put a picture of (of a CopterX!) in my build thread. Kent

Ok,I showed you the end position of my ESC and battery tray. Right now it's layed open awaiting a servo delivery... It's an Align 60amp ESC and of course a Scorpion 3026 1100kv... I have two Turnigy 2650mAh 6S 30C packs awaiting Deans Ultras... The tail gear is just like the Trex 500 ESP except more metal.lol... The TT tail is identicle to Aligns...

Cool! I sure like the looks of the shiny frame material they use. Bling! Some fiberglass material (G10 and G11) can be stronger than carbon fiber, too. Kent

Mckrackin: Would you mind talking about what parts you replaced on the bird, and why?
I can tell you about mine.
The one way bearing lasted about 10 flights. It started to sound like a bicycle rear bearing and then started to slip. Then it got REALLY HOT. I replaced it with an Align bearing and it's perfect.
The tail gear pulley came pre warped (I don't crank down on the Jesus bolt, either). An Align gear fixed it. I also replaced the main gear with Align, even though it was reasonable.
The shafts are all soft on the Exi. I ended up replacing ALL of the shafts with Align as they bent from looking them wrong.
I replaced the tail belt gear with Align, too. The Exi one shredded in a minor crash. The Align main gear was OK!!!
I have had no problem with bearings on my 500, yet, other than the thrust bearings in the blade grips. I think though that a crash may have taken them out, but I replaced them with Align ones anyway.
The Exi dampers shredded themselves in about 10 flights, too. I replaced them with Align and I have some K&B as well.
What I think is much better about Exi: 1. The CNC tail boom holder. 2. The CNC battery shelf. 3. The CNC rear mid level equipment shelf. 4. The CNC tail control rod holders. 5. The ALL CNC belt tail. 6. The CNC main bearing holders. 7. The CNC and CF boom support rods.
Just my 2c. Kent
