Many of you probably know, but this heli is still a work in progress. It had a vibration that ended up being a bone dry set of dampers. I removed the feathering shaft and lubed up the dampers with vaseline and that got rid of the vibrations! But on the very next battery down by the lake, I tried a flip and crashed it. I got all the parts in and have it flying again.
But then, trying to setup the POS Mystery ESC, it caught on fire. I now have a Hobbywing coming.
Man, try to skimp and it bites you! At least the ESC didn't cause a crash. But that thing sure did make the heli fly strangely.
I hope to be able to wring this thing out a little more when the new ESC shows up.
Then I'll try to do a build thread on this thing. I could do one now, but I hate to show stuff that doesn't work! Kent

It's just too much fun to build stuff and do things that are maybe a little out of the ordinary.
That's the way I view this ES600 (polite term for the E-Fart, E-tart, E-dump, E-stump, E-"make up yer own name", etc.).
From all of the research that I have done, this heli is not popular because Esky doesn't know how to market a 'real' heli. They just sell millions of tons of the smaller crap to everyone. They like the $1.50 head sales for the HBFP. When they happen to price head parts for a huge heli at $1.50 as well, they wonder why they are not selling as many of them!!!!!!!!!! I'm being sarcastic here, but you get my point.
Actually, I have found all but one part obtainable, and this heli is slated to be reproduced and in stock by November. That's if you believe Esky and a bunch of dealers.
I actually as of this evening have my ES600 flying VERY well. It is MORE agile than my 500. It can roll over on it's back easier than any heli I own. But, I hesitate there! I can't bring myself to roll this thing over now, very often. The part that is unobtainium at the moment is the tail part where you connect the servo rod. Ugh. Kent

I did pull an HBFP head trick and took the broken tail part, drilled it a little farther up the shaft, screwed in a link, and proceeded to use lots of thread and thin CA! That works wonders! I think it's stronger than the stock part, but it's a little shorter. I don't think that matters here!
Hah! I'm happy now. Kent
