Thanks for the info 19k, I did some research and found a couple things...the feathering shaft for the BH can be replaced with the one from the Beam E4, around $6 for four of them. Andy at xheli says the G2's feathering shaft is also a direct replacement, should you ever need one. I ordered a bunch of them, so if you need one just let me know and I'll send one to you to save you some money. The original shafts are always sold out wherever I try to get one but Ka-Planes has the heavy duty ones for $6 EACH, which is a little pricy and they don't seem to be any more durable than the stock ones (trust me, I know ). I really hate to say it, but I am seriously considering getting an EXI kit to replace the Blackhawk, the parts availability is really getting to me. I can use the motor, esc and rx from the Blackhawk and all I would need to get is the servo's, I have a Telebee gyro coming that I can use. Decisions, decisions............ Colin

I've had some close calls myself - kid on a bike decides to come flying up the street behind me, zips past me with in a foot of me and my heli, if I would have drifted the heli to the right at all, he would be eating a blade sandwich. Another time my neighbor snuck up behind me and thought it would be funny to scare the crap out of me, well he did, I dont know how I managed to land. Yeah, people have no idea how focused you are when flying, the worst is when they want to start talking to you when you are flying I ask them to please wait till I'm done, then ask all you want when I land. My neighbor across the street likes to walk out wearing her short shorts, her hair down and a tight top and ask me how much fun I'm having. I'm sure she knows I can't look without crashing. Especially when it is usually the HBFP I am flying out front. Honestly, the HBFP is cheap enough to fix. I have taken my chances with it a few times. ;D Hmm, thats a distraction I would not mind ;D

Never thought to check if the tail was straight, that might be why the belt keeps slipping off after my crash.....duh ;D Guess what I'm about to check.................... ;D Colin Belt stays on fine now (Typed this 5 minutes after the above post)

No problem, you have helped me quite a bit...it's the least I can do! I was looking for the sonix tail but Ka-Planes don't seem to have it any more and a google search didn't really help. I was looking at getting a T-Rex boom and tail set, the T-Rex and the BH both have a 12mm diameter boom so it should fit no problem...only thing that I am not sure of is the belt. I would think the T-Rex belt is a little shorter because I believe it's attatched in a different place than the BH's. Still thinking about that EXI kit though ;D

The align belt will not work because of the differences in drive assemlies for the tail, but the tail assembly will fit since the boom diameter matches.
Sooner or later just about everybody get's an align clone. Then parts location problems disappear. Might just do that myself one of these days. ;D

Bummer on the crash nunya, but you'll come out with a fixed heli and a lot more knowledge of it (and a lot less $$).
19k, LOL at the shirt comment, that is something I need for sure. I was out flying the blade 400 the other day and my fiancee came out and gave me a hug from behind when I wasn't expecting it and completely threw off my concentration. I've got several of these stories about kids, dogs, and yes, even really stupid adults.
These things are so cool and always attract a crowd, yet people don't respect them and how dangerous they can be. I'm getting to be a bit of an ass about it to everybody, but as soon as someone is close, I will land the heli and give the person, or pet owner, a very stern talking to. Usually people are cool enough to understand that I'm just looking out for their safety.
What really drives me nutz are the kids that are asking me if they can fly it, saying that they know how. I'm like "you're 5 years old and have never touched a transmitter, you don't know how." Lying little bastards. Then they try to tell me where to fly, or land, or want me to crash. Some of them even try to turn and ask their parents if they can fly MY heli when I say no. Stupid kids. Then the dad always comes and wants to talk about the helis: where I got em, are they gas or battery, how much do they cost, yada yada yada.

You are so right rc, drives me up the friggin wall about the kids wanting to fly it! But anyway.................. I did it. Just got me an EXI kit ;D CNC head and tail, Alpha 400 motor, Volcano esc, Telebee gyro from Ka-Planes, and (yes I know, crappy servo's ;D) a set of Towerpro servo's. I had a budget that I couldn't go over, and I will get better servo's in the near future once the kids have gone back to school. Hafta keep the wife happy too I am going to use my existing rx/tx from my Blackhawk for now until I have enough money for the Spektrum DX6i. Should all be here in about 2 weeks (slow shipping to Canada). I am really looking forward to this build!!! So 19k, I have a BH450 complete with everything except the rx and tx, spare main shafts, spare feathering shafts, spare tail servo mount, spare horizontal/vertical fins, spare belt, ball links (all new).....want 'em? ;D Colin

very nice nunya. Once you do get the DX6i or DX7 transmitter, you'll never look back. You'll have all of your planes and helis on one transmitter, it is awesome. I thought the price didn't justify buying that DX7 before I got it, but once I did, I wished I had just done it sooner.

Yeah I was thinking of that. Along with the other 2 heli's I want to sell, that'll give me enough dough for the DX6i ;D Thought I'd check with you first though 19k, no biggie Colin
