The first one is Tx only. The second one has the AR6200 Rx included. A savings of about $30 with the combination.

The transmitter is the unit you hold in your hands and sends the signals to the heli. The receiver (AR6200 in this case) is mounted on the heli and receives the signals from the transmitter. The receiver sorts the signals out and sends them to various parts of the Electronic Speed Controler (ESC), BEC, motors, servos, gyro, etc. I hope that I understand your question correctly. www.rcheliwiki.com has a lot of good information on components.

So if I buy the Honey Bee V2 what else do I need to bind it to the DX6I?

The Esky 4 in 1 is not compatible with a Spektrum system, unfortunately.
There's a couple of ways to Spektrumize the HB. You'll need to install a Spektrum receiver either way.
1. Disconnect the Rx part of the 4 in 1 and wire the Spektrum Rx to what's left. There's a YouTube video somewhere on how to do this.
2. Remove the 4 in 1 altogether and install a Spektrum Rx and a compatible 3 in 1. The E-Flight 3 in 1 appears to be compatible from what I've read. The 3 in 1 off the Big Lama may also work, but I can't verify this.
Either way it's probably more work and expense than it's worth, IMO.

IMHO, the cost for this upgrade isn't warranted for the HB alone. But if you take into consideration that the DX6i can be used on up to 10 helis or planes having one does make sense. Also just about any plane or heli is going to fly smoother with the DX6i. Add to that the programmability of the DX6i and you have a pretty compelling set of reasons to make the switch.
Happy landings

I have seen that video on modifying the E-Sky 4 in 1 Controller so that you can attach a Spektrum receiver and fly the HBFP with a DX6i transmitter. I thought that Nuttcaze made the video, but I can't find it on his websites. Maybe someone else can point you to it. I agree with 19K that unless you intend to use a DX6i transmitter to fly multiple helis anyway, it isn't worth the expenditure for just one heli.

Thanks for all replay's. I understand how the TX and receivers work now. I ended up buying the DX7. ;D

Good for you Bob. Have fun with it. Happy landings Thanks 1900 Now that I got my feet wet with coxals and FP’s. I’ll jump right into the deep end so I figured the best place start is with a good TX.

I spectrumized my HB early on, and it is wonderful. The AR6200 can be used, but the remote receiver is somewhat of a pain to mount. I started with the AR6200 with the remote mounted on the front. I then replaced that with an AR6100 without the remote. The AR6100E is the perfect receiver though, as it has the servo plugs on the end. Sorry, I can't find any good pics of the mod, but it's easy to do. Here's a side view of the AR6200 remote: Nuttcaze's video: Kent

I believe the AR6100E (end connectors) is perfect for smaller helis. Had one in the wifes CX2 and in the BS which ray modded to brushless. They also work great for park flyers.
Happy landings
