The Raptor 50 pilot was there again for a while, in between the rain.
This time, he was doing circuits with the planks, PASSING THEM UP!! Dam thing is incredibly FAST!!! I remember that Elk put a GPS on his Trex 600 and it showed 80+mph! This thing was every bit of that. It looked like 100+!
Man, if nitros weren't so messy, I'd consider one! This fellow's starts easy, runs smooth and powerfully, runs for around 15 minutes!, and it flies like a dream, well, with him at the sticks. Humm... Kent

Wow! Hey 19k! We need to see yours! I am looking really hard at that exact plank.
But, today, because I didn't see yours, I bought a scale Hughes 500d 'Defender' military fuselage for my 450. I plan on making it 100% functional. From the laser designator to the missiles that actually fire. Kent

Ok. Which P51 do you have, 19k? There is the old original one with a brushed motor, running on UGH! 29mhz. Then there is the newer version that is brushless, also running on what, 29mhz? ?? BUT, they also have a BNF with DSM2?? Then there is the super micro P51? Man, those guys have gone crazy with P51's. It is my favorite plane of all time, though. So, what's the deal? What's the best of these?

Take lots of pics, Kent. I gotta see that one. Ok, will do Sol. It took a few days to feel like they would actually send the fuse! I am excited to build a scale model. I have always loved scale. We'll see! I'll try to do a build thread with this fuselage. Kent

Yes, it's the new BL. Don't buy the old one. There is absolutely no comparison. I bought the airframe only pkg. $79 and added my own motor and electronics: Park 480 motor (960Kv direct drive) DX5e Tx (Your DX7 is perfect for fine tuning rates, throws and expos, but you don't need to do anything except leave everything at 100%) AR6100 (Any DSM2 spektrum Rx will work except the AR6400 ultra micro) Eflite 30A ESC (Any 30-40 ESC will do) 1500 mAh battery 20-25C (Good for 8-10 mins of mixed flying with a lot of WOT and it fits into the stock batt tray cut out. A 2200 can be used in a different location in the fuse ) 2 PKZ 1061 servos for the ailerons (long wires) 2 PKZ 1060 Rudder and Elevator (short wires) Y harness for the ailerons PKZ prop from the T-28/Corsair (9X7.5) Collet from the T/28/Corsair (you need this for the 9X7.5 prop) I also reinforced the elevator hinges with hinge tape and added the Corsair landing and tail gears. 2 small cut outs on the spinner to accomodate the 9x7.5 prop. I would not buy the RTF with the cheapie radio. I'd suggest the airframe pkg or BNF. With the BNF you cannot exceed the stock prop without upgrading from the stock 18A ESC to a 30A. This plane flies like it is on rails. No bad habits like tip stalls. Stock it exceeds 40mph (my estimate). Change the stock ESC and prop and you're looking at up to 60. Motor, ESC and 4S changes and you're well over 100. You don't need the landing gears. It's a very good belly lander. You can land it dead stick most of the time. I haven't decided on what motor, ESC or battery I'm going to use on my next one yet. I'm leaving the power alone on my current plane, but plan to change the colors and markings this winter to another of the historic schemes. If you buy it, I'd appreciate it if you bought it from my friends at Hobby Zone. secure.hobbyzone.com/search/PKZ1880.html Happy landings

Ooooh, and the mirco P51. We'll be getting that in the next week or two. ;D All reports on that are fantastic. A big step up from their other micros, with the exception of the Sukhoi which is very aerobatic, and it flies very scale they say.
Happy landings
