While at bow-camp in Montana,,I got to do some flying. This is my T-Rex 500 ESP. I was out there for 6 weeks,, I flew most everyday the first 3 weeks then the weather got bad. We had a whole week when the temperature never got above 22 degrees with some snow,,,,not good for flying,,lol. This was the day before a storm hit around the 1st of Oct,,,I haven't been able to fly since,,,,I'm bumm'n . Should get some good weather by the end of the week. I have to order some main bearings for my 600 ESP then get that back in the air. I'm getting pretty good with the 500,,,flips,,rolls,,,inverted hovers. I'm still pretty sloppy with the tic-tocs. Now that I'm home, I can concentrate on flying now!!! ;D Some of you asked about my Elk,,,,that video is loading and I'll post it here later!! Randy

Elk I never tire of watching you handle your helis. And to think just a few months back you only started this hobby. Buddy you have come a long way in a short time and have learned a lot and helped and shared a lot of what you have learned. Thanks for being here I hope you are always around. Its people like you and all the others guys here that make this a cool place to be.

OK,,,,as promised,,,here is a video of the Bull Elk I got on my hunting trip to Montana. This is my 7th Pope & Young Record Book bull Elk. I Have some pictures I'll post later.
I snuck up on this bull just as he was getting out of his bed and started feeding. I got to within 60 yards but I had to go another 10 yards to get a clear shot,,,it took me 8 minutes to get those 10 yards. Everytime he put his head down to eat I could move a couple feet at a time. It was really quiet out and the ground/grass was very crunchy. Even thou this isn't my biggest bull Elk, I'm really proud of this one, it took a LOT of skill and patience to pull this one off. I got it butchered and packed out to the access road all by myself and radio'd my wife for a pick up.
This may be my last Elk,,I just can't handle the hunt anymore,,,my knees are toast and my back is worse. This is a good Elk to out on.
My passion lies is helis now,,,I can set is a lawn chair and fly,,LOL!!
Enjoy!!

Welcome back Randy, been wondering what happened to you. Sounds like the trip to Montana was a good one. Nice video and nice flying. I tried the whole hunting thing for a while, just too much work for me and not nearly as stimulating. I live near Idaho, so there are a lot of hunting folks around here. I get to enjoy the meat that my buddies have and I don't have to do any of the work, that's just the way I like it.

Deer season has started here and I'll be moving from deer camp to deer camp armed only with cold beer and an appetite.lol ;D

I'm the same way. I won't shoot it, but I'll eat it. Elk, that is. Deer meat is too gamey for my taste. Moose is too coarse and dry. Elk is just right...especially if made into jerky or pepperoni.

How many kills did you get all together Randy. The one picture with all the racks on top of the popup looks like a bunch.

Dave We got two Bulls,,,,,,the rest of the antlers are shed antlers that we found while hiking around hunting. My wife is a shed nut,,,,it's like finding a gold-nugget for her,,LOL. If anyone doesn't know,,,shed antlers are antlers that deer and elk drop each spring,,,then they grow a new set each year. Randy
