Good stuff Randy! My EXI is down awaiting parts so I took the ole HBFP out just for old times sake. I haven't flown it in a while so I was laughing hard at the twitchiness...which caused me to crash into a fence at about 25mph ;D I didn't even care, and absolutely no damage. That POS Bee never ceases to amaze me. Now...looking at a T-Rex 500 as my next project...damn you Randy ;D ;D ;D

Just got in myself. The morning was kind of a bust because the 9mph winds they were promising turned out to be more like 20-25 with big gusts.
I kept the helis on the ground and did one pack each on the Funtana, P51 and Corsair. The only difficulties came from trying to get a smooth landing on rough grass with the wind blowing them every which way. But, everything ended up shiny side up.
The Sukhoi is way too small for anything much over 5-7mph so she spent the day in the SUV.
Packed up and went home for lunch.
The winds dropped to 10-15 with less gusting, so I went back out and did 4 packs each in the G2 and BH. It was a little rough on the G2, but the BH flew great. Didn't get too fancy.
About the time I was running out of packs for the helis the sun came out and the winds died to 5-10 and changed direction to out of the south. It was like a completely different day than the AM.
Flew a couple of packs each in the planks. Did a lot of low inverted passes with the warbirds and just went crazy with funtana; knife edges, harriers, hovers and danced the thing on it's skid plate off the grass. What fun. Then I kind of dropped it a little too hard on an intentional stall landing and cracked the fuse a bit. Mr. Gorilla Glue to the rescue. ;D
So, all in all, not a bad day. I won't need my credit card tonight. ;D
Elk, I've seen videos of guys launching there EDF's with a catapult setup using surgical rubber. That way you wouldn't need to rely on your weak armed relatives. ;D
Happy landings

If you have been paying attention the last few months,,,I would highly recommend you get an Align,,,,with Align electronics. The Flashers and HKs and EXIs,,,they all complain about marginal parts and everyone can't wait to upgrade to Align parts. I had Futuba servos on mine but went to Align,,,,I do have a Scorpion motor which I would also recommend. I can't say I like the 500 better than my 600,,,they are just different animals. The 600 is the Caddillac and needs a lot of room to fly. The 500 is hotrod and just as stable as the 600. The difference between a 450 and a 500 is like a go-cart and a Farrarri.

Yup, I have been paying attention...if I had $1 for every time I saw someone wanting to upgrade to Align parts, I'd probably have enough money to buy a 500 Thanks for the advice Randy Colin

Congrats, Elk and 19k! I just got back, too! NO mishaps, either!!
I flew: 450 for four batteries. 500 for three batteries. P51 for three batteries. ES600 for one battery (I only have one now, and I didn't bring the charger. MSR for zero batteries, as the tail motor quit.
I didn't fly the Ultimate, as I flew down by the lake with no runway.
The weather was 72 degrees with very light winds. Not a cloud in the sky!
It was awesome! Kent

I might add that the Exi 500 CF is a different animal than the other Exi's. MUCH NICER. These have MORE metal than an Align 500, and these use larger hex drivers for the frame bolts than Align. You don't have to worry about stripping these.
The only thing that sucks on these are the shafts and gears. Those need to be Align. That's it. If you get an Exi 500, check all the shafts and gears carefully. If they are straight, then you are good until you crash. Replace any prebent shafts and prewarped gears with Align.
I LOVE my Exi 500! Kent

Oh! The P51 is perfect for launching one handed, or underhanded, or by a highrise hotel, or by any other means!
I am very impressed! You just let it go, aiming it kind of up from a low spot! Heh! Kent

Looks like we batted a 1000. ;D
20-30 mph for the next few days. Guess I'll build something instead of flying so I can keep my average going. ;D
Happy landings

I think I got in six batteries myself yesterday with no incidents.
Daggone good day ;D
I haven't flown the 500 much at all lately so it felt good to get it out. Had a serious case of nerves though.lol... I never flipped it once and never once exposed the nose.
Bok bok bok.... ;D
