Thanks Gabe, I think I'll need the the better power for a hand launch. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to modify, that's not what's bothering me, I just hate to pay for crap that I'm going to throw away because it doesn't perform. I think I'll wait until they get the kit back in stock and set it up with the delta V. Again, thanks for the advice. You saved me some money and some disappointment.

I know, I've done it, and I hate it. I have 3 of those motors and fans just laying around. They work, but I won't use them in anything cause they suck.

You know, they might work OK in a profile, light weight, jet. There's a few of those out there if you wanted to make some use of them.

Hand launch success!!!!
Decided to give her a try today. Got a good grip on the bottom of the fusey right in front of the wings- on the ducts- fired her up to full throttle, gave a good hard straight toss and she had plenty of power to climb. Not too good in 14-20mpj winds though. Landed early due to lack of control. No damage, just my fun-o-meter was reading low.

Congrats on the hand launch. Did you leave the gears on or off?
Yeah, at some point too much wind has you working too hard for control and there's no fun in that.

Left the gears on for an easy landing. That foam that they make the cheapies out of doesn't last very long as a belly lander. I'm big on landing gear, even if there are no retracts.

Yep, that's what I think too. If nothing else, those gears are a buffer between plane and the ground even if the landings aren't perfect because the surface is rough.
