Ha ha! Holy crap! That's totally something I would do!
You're gonna love that Stryker. I have the dual rates set at 65% all around for low rates and then 85% for high rates. The high rates are insane and I really don't use them. I can turn almost a 90 degree with the low rates. It takes about 10 minutes to slap on the fins, CA glue the nose cone, and hook up the receiver.
The 2200mah 30C batteries are perfect for that thing.
I need a report when you are back from flying.

Good going Dube. I hope you're going to put in some SC time before you try to tame the Dragon.

yes i have gabe 25 yrs ago, but i fly them on the phoenix sim all the time no problem, ok i have a ? gabe. i have a spare ar6110e rx for the f27c but i cant get it right. rt stick, forward goes up, back goes down on the rt flap, good there. not on the left flap. so when i go left on the stick the left flap goes down, and when i go rt on the stick it goes up. ok i have a 72 mhz 3 channle rx, but i cant get it to bind to the dx6i, i take it you cant bind the to. hope to here back soon. if the weather is nice fri, i am going flying, planks and helis

I would think the Stryker has elevons, Dube. You need to set the Tx up for those. I don't have one nor have I done it, but that's something you can play with until someone in the know gets here.
The 72mhz Rx won't bind to the DX6i. One is mhz and the other is ghz. Never the twain shall meet.

Be sure the plug from the ESC to the RX is plugged in the correct way. It won't bind if its not. Just to make sure we've covered all the basics here is the bind procedure: 1. Set up the model in the DX6i. Then turn off the TX. 2. Put the bind plug into the BIND channel in the AR6110e and plug in the battery (make sure the ESC is hooked up to the receiver, obviously). 3. Pull and hold the TRAINER switch on the DX6i and then turn it on while holding the switch. Once BIND flashes on the screen, let go of the TRAINER switch and wait a few seconds. You should here the servos set in about 5 to 10 seconds. 4. Pull the trainer plug and you are ready to go. As far as the servos go, plug one into the elevon channel and one into the aileron channel. You will need to go to the Wing Tail Setup and select Elevon. Now, you will need to play with the reversing until you get it right. If after you reverse the servos it still isn't right, then simply switch the channels that the servos are plugged into. Right stick back = both elevons should go up; push the stick up = both down; push the stick left = left elevon up, right down; push the stick right = right elevon up, left down; BTW, I would fly that Cub first to get your plank bearings back. That Stryker will knock your socks off.

Yep, it has elevons. The aileron and elevator channels are mixed and the stock radio does that and you can set it up in the DX that way too.
I recommend switching to a spektrum radio ASAP. They are 100% more reliable and precise than the stock radio.
I use the AR500 on one of my planks. The big advantage there is that the aileron control is more precise (precison aerobatic flying) because of the individual aileron channels than on the combined aileron channel on the 6100 series.
I'm not sure there is any big advantage to having individual aileron channels on a elevon plane though since the two signals are mixed anyway.

Great to hear Dube. I wonder if you wouldn't want to be on low rates for your first few flights?

" rt stick, forward goes up, back goes down"
Just fly the plane upside down and the elevator will work correctly.

Actually, I had them both as up. Sorry guys, I fixed that in the post. I think I was on a layover with only a few hours sleep when I was double checking what I had wrote.
