Wow, what a beautiful model. That thing must have cost the price of a small house. That sonic boom was really neat. We enjoyed both vids. Thanks Dube.

Coolest RC aircraft I've ever seen! I like the guys high water pants too.
The sonic boom was pretty darn neat.

Both vids were very cool dube. The sonic boom inspired my wife and I to do a little research about it. Pretty neat stuff.

Man I would LOVE to ride in a Super Sonic Fighter! And I would sell my first child for a ride in the real SR71! I don't care if I pucked my guts up, I want that fighter pilot to turn and burn! Afterburner, Baby! I want to see the sound barrier break from inside the canopy

Afterburner, Baby! I want to see the sound barrier break from inside the canopy If you puked everytime they exceeded the sound barrier on a single flight in an SR71 you'd be doing it at least 3 TIMES. Well over 2200 miles per. Exact speed still a secret. Kelly Johnson's ultimate design achievement. Nearly 50 years old and it's still the fastest plane EVER...Think about that; EVER. Not in 50 years has anyone been able to eclipse the performance of the SR71... Except maybe some ones they haven't let us see yet...Like the Aurora... ;D

Not in 50 years has anyone been able to eclipse the performance of the SR71... Except maybe some ones they haven't let us see yet...Like the Aurora... ;D The best American aeronautical ingenuity! That thing set the coast-to-coast speed record on its trip from California to the Smithsonian at its first retirement. The pilot was asked if that was as fast as it would go. If I remember correctly, he simply smiled and said "no". I talked to a former Air Force MPs who were stationed at White Sands, New Mexico. He told of a time when a Classified plane was scheduled to land on short notice. They were required to have a hanger open and MPs in place when it arrived. ETA around a half hour. They asked the pilot his location. HE WAS OVER OHIO He said about a half hour later an SR71 landed and taxied directly into the hanger. I used to think that was a BS story until I learned more about the Blackbird. Maybe some of it was BS, but it is plausible. I do love that plane. A former pilot published a book about it recently, but I can't remember the name of it. 19, think about this. The technology behind the design of the F117 is over 30 years old. No telling what is out there. Photon engines? Rumored to be tested over the Pacific several years ago. I think the technology is getting so advanced that unmanned is necessary because of the limits of the human body. Cool Stuff. Next, a layman's discussion of passive radar, it's effect on stealth and the newest technology to overcome it by bending the light spectrum around an object in real time. Dam I love this stuff! ;D

I did some work for Raytheon back in the late 80's for a Navy project. Then I did some work for Naval Surface Weapons in the early 90's. Then more work with the Air Force with a place in St. Louis after that. The things we see in the news are really OLD news. There were things back then that would blow your mind today that have not been talked about. === They have an almost touchy feelie SR71 in Mobile bay, Alabama, at the air museum next to the battleship Alabama. That battleship is incredible and is being restored. When you see it after seeing the WWI/WWII battleship Texas that is also being restored, it is incredible what 25 years does for a ship's design.
And then you think about another 25 years being able to go from basically a P-51 to an SR-71!!
Truly unbelievable. Kent

I've been super-sonic a couple times,,,both in a F-4E. It's pretty cool,, you get a pretty whicked shake and rumble at the moment you pass the speed of sound then it really glides,,super smooth. The first time,, we had a wing-man flying about 1000 feet away and you could see the shock waves,,,really cool.
The thing that amazed me the most was when we decellerated from mach 1.2 to about mach .5 instantly,,,,it was literally like hitting a brick wall,,you couldn't keep your head up.
Fighter pilots had a thing they did at the bars,,,,they told the girls that when a guy went super-sonic,,,they were sterile for 48 hours, cause it killed the sperm cells,,,LOL. It didn't work for me,,,LOL!!
