A couple people asked for a picture so here it is. This is by far the quickest and easiest way to level your swashplate,,,,and every bit as accurate as anything else. Just put a zip-tie on the main shaft,,nothing has to be taken apart. I put a little piece of tape so it just barely touches a swashplate arm,,,then rotate the head and set the other swashplate arms the same,,,done. Takes 30 seconds to set up and 1 second to snip it off,,,go fly!! I think Big Ernie McKraker first posted this months ago!!

That is a great idea. I found a post about that just when I was getting ready to buy some of the leveling tools for my 450 and 500 long ago. I don't remember where. I never did buy those tools, and I'm glad I didn't.
The best part about this ingenious invention is you don't have to take the head off to level it! Kent

I argued this method til I was actually ill from frustration. This guy at RCD says it can't work because the tie might not be a true 90. I tried to explain that it doesn't matter.Only the relative position of the tie matters and it is a constant.
Does this look clear to you guys? I sound aggrevated in the video because I am.lol...

My favorite argument from them is...If the tie isn't a perfect 90,it can't work.
So....

You can argue with a moron all day long. One thing for sure at the end of the day; he's still going to be a moron. ;D

Guys if nobody minds I would like to move this over to the "Information" area and sticky it to the top. This is one of the best post I have ever seen here at Heli Talk and we don't need to let it slide away.
