OVER 100!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The first flight today was 107mph. Flight 2 was 112mph!!! Flight 3 was 110mph!!! Remember that this speedo doesn't care about wind, so into the wind or with the wind will matter little. The first flight was only nailing it while flat. With the other flights, I had a little dive going on, but not much of one. With the last flight, I was trying to fly a little bit of formation with a little Great Planes Evader EDF that flew at around 100mph. It was OBVIOUS that my Funjet was faster, but it was only 10mph faster on average! Anyway, here is the paint I added to see it a little better. That worked really well. Attachments:

Here is the speedo from the last run!
These hold the last speed until you fly again at some minimal speed. That's cool.
These turn on and flash the mode (mph/kph). The MPH mode is a long solid flash. Then these flash the speed. A quick two flashes is a zero.
So this video shows you what 110mph looks like!!!
Man, when I first saw the single first flash today I had to give a large grunt! Yeah baby!

I think I'll stick with the teeny weeny motor. When I told my wife about the Funjet and 100mph she forbade me from buying it...We'll see about that. ;D Heheh!! Not the 19k I know! You're gunna need to change your name to 30k, though... === Really, the trick prop now is the APC Speed 400 5.5x4.5. It has just about the same punch and verticals as the 6x4 S400, but it is faster! It feels like the perfect happy medium. Man I love this thing! Kent

Great paint job! At 112 mph it'll probably peel off in about 5 flights though. ;D That little speedo is really trick. I originally chose 19K screen name for the rpm F1 cars used to turn. Now the regulatory body has restricted them to 18K. I just don't get why the FIA regulators keep trying to make F1 cars go slower. Isn't racing supposed to be about going faster? The ironic thing is; every time they change the rules to make the cars go slower the teams figure out how to actually make them go faster. Screw the regulators. Yep, I may need to change it to 30K now. ;D

Here's a summary of my 110mph Funjet:
1. Box stock Funjet kit.
2. 2 x HXT-900 servos.
3. Turnigy 2836/2350kv outrunner motor.
4. Turnigy Plush 60 amp ESC.
5. 1800ma 40c 4s batts. (I am flying for 4-5 minutes and using about half of the batteries. I land when the speed starts to drop off). I was trying to keep the weight moderate. Note that I generally have not gone WOT very often. A WOT pass and then a half throttle cooling lap. But now I'm not sure I even need to do that with this prop!
6. Prop adapter from HC with a cone (probably makes no difference).
7. APC Speed 400 5.5x4.5 prop. ==== The 5.5x4.5 actually draws several amps less static current than the 6x4, which is good. The watts up shows ~770 watts now vs. well over 800 with the 6x4. The motor was not nearly as hot, either. When flying the formations with the Evader, I was into the throttle a lot more than before, but the motor came down touchable! I might have melted it with the 6x4.
I am so jazzed! Kent

Holy Calzones Kent! That's incredible! Minimal work and you're into triple digits!! Good stuff. This is on my list after my darkside build is finished.

Holy Calzones Kent! That's incredible! Minimal work and you're into triple digits!! Good stuff. This is on my list after my darkside build is finished. This little jet is amazing! You will love one! There is a ton of room inside for everything, too. I'm running the 1800 4s with no mods inside. The thing really is 100% stock! When you look at one, you'll notice how they did the elevons with this foam. The hinges are just in the foam all the way across. The foam is so tough that's all it needs and there is no gap to cause fluttering. So far I have stalled mine into the ground once and cartwheeled it twice on landing with zero damage. It's tough! I do have some of that 3M super strapping tape along the bottom of the fuselage. You build these with regular CA. No foam safe needed. They don't recommend epoxy either. So plain ole medium CA is all you need! For paint, I used Valspar plastic paint. It seems to stick well and doesn't come off. Apparently finding paint to stick is the problem with this foam. I don't think anything will eat it. They even recommend using acetone to clean it!! I won't try that, though! That's some amazing foam! Kent

Another flight yesterday. 111mph. At least it's consistent!
Did you get yours in, 19k?

I have the air frame, but the motor hasn't come back in stock yet, or at least they haven't notified me yet.

Bummer on the motor and servos. I'm setup for the notification when it comes back in stock.
Thanks, Kent!
