I got such a good deal on it (scratch and dent) I decided to pick up an Eflite Enticement for something different in a 3D plane a few weeks ago. Well, actually, it's kind of "old school" with thin 3mm Depron and CF sturts eveywhere, but I think it's going to fly pretty good indoors and on light wind days outdoors. www.hobbyzone.com/rc-planes-eflite-enticement-f3p-arf.htmI got it almost complete today and I opted for a bigger motor; the Elfite 300. Think I'll get it done tomorrow and then off to the school gym soon to see how it rips. ;D

You know, you really need to get some digitals or even better, video of your stuff. I'd like to see it in the air.

Nice 19K, how did the build go on it? Anything I need to know? I should have the rest of my parts in today, so I might get started on the build tonight. It looks like it's gonna be windy this week, so I prolly won't be able to fly it very soon, but I'm looking forward to a nice calm day when I can go tear it up. Gotta get this build done before all of the MSH protos stuff arrives

Gotta get this build done before all of the MSH protos stuff arrives It really goes together very easy. I was missing a piece here and there (scratch and dent) but I was able to make what I didn't have. The only tip is to you make sure to keep everything square while you glue it together and it will build up nice. The only thing I haven't built are the control horns for the control surfaces. Never seen anything quite like it before using CF, a brace and shrink covering to attach the control rod to the horn. Guess it should work OK though. Good luck! Are you going with the 250 power?

Yup, I got the 250, didn't even think of going with the 300. You should be able to hover that thing pretty easy. The 250 looked like enough power for me.
Thanks for the advice. I'll keep the yard sticks on hand so everything is square. Thinking I'll have to buy another kit at some point for spares, which is fine, because the kit itself isn't too bad.

I used the 300 because I was retiring the Funtana and waiting for the 250 to show up. Yeah, it should do a mean hover. It you have a 90 degree tirangle it's easy to keep the 90's right which is about the only thing you need to do except making sure the fuse reinforcing strips that run don the side don't get off track and warp it. I think ordering a spare kit is a good idea or just order a sheet of depron and make spares out of that. Grayson hobby is a good place to buy Depron.

I'm putting the electronics in today and, after giving it some more thought, I'll add the side force generators and air brakes too. I was going to try it without the generators and brakes, but started thinking of how small the gym is decided that I'd probably need them there. At least at first anyway.
Some final assembly notes:
1) When I went to install the control rods I found that they were all short. I ended up adding some length by clipping some spare CF and shrink wrapping it to the rod to get the right length and then shrink wrapping an elbow from the control rod to the horn using a soldering iron for heat. The elbow arrangement (a flexible clevis) appears that it will work better than I thought it would. 2) The wiring for the ESC is going to require quite a bit of shortening to keep the weight down and I'll need to move the ESC back on the airframe to get the right CG because of the heavier motor. 3) There is no indication where the battery and radio go in the plans, but I'm guessing close to the CG. 4) I'm going to try a 8X3.8 prop for the maiden. I really have no idea of how that's going to work. ;D 5) I'm using a 750 20C Rhino for now.
Edit: It's completely finished now. A little heavier than I expected, but I don't have a scale to figure out exactly what she weighs.
One thing for sure; it's got a ton of power. The 8X3.8 "feels" right on the bench, although I think she'll handle up to a 10X4 with the bigger motor. I'm going to need to be careful on the maiden with the power. I don't think I made a mistake on adding the air brakes. ;D

I think you and I are similar, 19k.
If it needs X power, then =at least= double that. Then it will fly well!

I took the Enticement to the gym today. I didn't really fly it though, just pushed it around the floor and lifted it off just enough to realize I'm going to need a bigger prop to fly it indoors. I'ts going to be too fast with the 8X3.8 for indoors even with the air brakes.

Sweet 19k, can't wait to hear what you think of it. I just got the servo installed on mine today. It's been a slow build, what with glue curing and all. It's so light and flimsy too. I'm so used to using screws and zip ties to hold things together, not glue and heat shrink. Mine is also slightly warped, not sure what happened, hope it still flies alright.

I'm so used to using screws and zip ties to hold things together, not glue and heat shrink. Mine is also slightly warped, not sure what happened, hope it still flies alright. I used the Eflite foam compatible medium CA and the Activator and most joints cured in a minute or so. But yeah, all in all, it takes a few hours to get all of the foam and CF put together. With all of those fussy little weight saving things like the CF control horns and shrink clevises it should end up really light with the 250 motor. I think you'll be able to trim out the affects of the warp. My Funtana was so mangled it was ridiculous and it still flew great with the trims set right. When the weather clears up, I'm going to try it outside with the current prop and then a couple of alternates to, hopefully, get it slowed way down. If that doesn't work out I'll go to the smaller and light motor and lighter ESC.

I still haven't flown the Enticement yet. Winds have been too high for the maiden of a light foamy. Someday soon I hope.....
Say rcdbutz, how's your Enticement?
