Another 15 flights, or so later, my elevator clevis broke in mid loop. I was thinking a wing might buckle sooner or later even with the extra CF. Surprise, surprise. I just never know what to expect next; except that I know I'll be surprised by it. Spitty spent the day and night in the top of an oak and then blew down. The only airframe damage was to the wing so that was good. I was going to replace it anyway. Now if the electronics all survived the soaking, a 25 mph wind driven downpour, all will be great. I'm letting them dry 24 hrs. before testing them out.

My crashes are always due to mechanical or electronic failures. It's frustrating when that happens.
My rule of thumb is that if I'm upgrading my power train, I'm upgrading my pushrods and clevises and adding additional structural reinforcement. Looks like you learned that one the hard way. Bummer bro.

I got lucky. All the electronics survived except the battery; which had a whole half volt in it. It was a battery nearing it's life end anyway, so that was no great loss. I think the clevis was defective. The clevis and horn were nylon dubros that I've used on all my upgraded park flyers. It split on the length of the threaded portion. There isn't sufficient force to break a good clevis without ripping the elevator off first. Oh, well. ;D I've installed the new hardware and wing with a 5mm CF tube spar in it. Good to go. Hope to have her back in the air this AM.

Wow, it does sound like a defect in the clevis.
Well, I hope you get her up and flying today!

It flew great. At this point the only thing required was a tiny bit of elevator and aileron adjustments to keep the Tx trims at zero. The 5mm CF tubing spar I installed at the CG in the wing has resulted in zero flex in the wing. After a few landings it is very solid. The wing breaking has always been an issue with this plane and I think I've got it resolved this time.
