Yeah, I usually jump up to about a foot or so then sowly climb from there. In the 6'-8' range is where I am most comfortable. Gives me a little more time if things start to go south. ;D
10 packs in and still nothing broken, which is a good thing because my spare parts have not made it here yet. The vibration is at a bare minimum. Had a little "wobble" out of the box too but I got that sorted out last night. The B is much more stable now.
Its always fun to share your experiences with people who have been through the same things.
Thanks Guys,
Tony

Tony, you should try popping off the training wheels! It's a whole other heli without those things on there! Good job on getting it balanced.
Kiwi is right. Lots of gas to pop the HB up is the best way to get it hovering. Oh, just saw where you are doing that too...
Best, Kent

I was thinking about taking off the training gear this morning but I am going to wait until my parts get here, which according to UPS should be tomorrow.

Not a bad idea to wait on parts!
I wish I could be there to see the look on your face when you first fly without the training wheels!
The first time I did, it was like WOW!!!! I couldn't stop grinning! Kent

Well ya know it had to happen eventually. On pack 13 got a little cocky and was zipping around inside the shop at work. Got a little too close to an air line hanging from the ceiling and...you know the rest. Not too bad though, just a rotor head, which I can fix, and a ring like push rod which I think I could have fixed if I had not lost the other half. So its off the the house to rummage around in my shop and try to find a #7 o-ring.

Kiwi, I agree with you about the throttle up. When I baby it, I end up laying it over. I try to find the balance to get the sucker off the ground and relatively straight without shooting off or rolling over.

Besides being able to progress once I took off the training wheels, this one adjustment given to me by an old heli pilot was this: Unplug your motor. Bring your throttle up half way and check to make sure your swash is level to the earth. (and your heli) then take your right side push/pull link to the swash from the servo (looking in the same direction of the heli) and shorten that link one (1) complete turn. Put it back on the swash and go....hover....like you never could before. There is a logical reason for this, and you've probably already have dialed this in, if so just disreguard. But if you haven't..........try it.

I ran by the house during my lunch break and my parts and the Super landing gear both are here. SWEEEEET! ;D
If the boss had any ideas of getting any more work out of me this week he can kiss the sh/t goodbye.
On a side note: I opened the box from Boomtown Hobbies and stuffed in there for packing was a page out of what looked like a sales flyer advertising bras and purses...not sure what is going on over there. ;D

Well, I got it all back together and flew through all 5 of my packs.
Kent, you will be happy to know that I left off the training gear when I put the new skids on. You were right! The B is more stable and waaaay more responsive.
I was nervous about getting the HBFP because of all the posts I have read over at the other place about how hard to handle this thing is. That is why I waited so long to get it, now I wish I had ordered it months ago.
Thanks guys,
Tony
