I been away a while. Seems to be a bunch of planks nowadays.lol... Cool.I want one myself.
I have converted to nitro myself. My fleet is nearly all nitro now. Got a Trex 600 NP and two Frenzy 50's. One Frenzy is still on the build table.
Moving away from lipos too. I have a Hyperion G3 lipo in my Align Super Starter and a 2S lipo RX pack on my Frenzy but my Trex RX pack is a LiFe 6.6 volt running unregulated.Love this set up and will be running LiFe packs on everything soon.
The flying Frenzy has a 3G FBL set up and the Trex has a flybar and a Spartan gyro.I think the Trex will have a V Bar after Christmas though and I will combine the Spartan gyro and 3G on the Frenzy. The 3G is a good cyclic stabe system but I have never been happy with its tail control.
Sold the Trex 500 as well as all my EP helis but the 120SR. Can't get enough out of it to be worth selling and it is still fun to do funnels in the living room.lol...
So guys, let's hear what's going on...
Ernie

Big Ernie!
I turned to the dark side and went to planks. If you have any questions let me know. It was a really easy transition from heli's.
Good to hear from you!

Wow, you've been a busy guy. I've been working mostly on plank projects and a few helis. I'll be posting on the helis around chritsmas. Don't be a stranger. Show us some of those bad boys. And, if you don't end up in a kit built sometime in the future I'd be very surprised. Just do 10 hrs of instruction in a Robbins first so you don't kill yourself.

Don't be a stranger. Show us some of those bad boys. 'Ight then They all three have OS Hyper 50 engines. One Frenzy, the FBL one,has a Curtis Youngblood MP5 pipe. The other Frenzy has an Outrage Hyper Rage HP50 pipe. The Trex has a Hatori tuned pipe. All have Savox 1290MG tail servos. The Frenzy FBL has Savox cyclics and the Trex has Futaba cyclics. All have Futaba throttle servos. The Trex has a micro Futaba servo for the automatic fuel/air mixture.

Wow! You've been busy, Mckrackin!! I like it!
The ONLY problem I have with nitro is the smoke and mess. There are a bunch of nitro flying folks in the north Austin field. They have TONS of power, can fly for a LONG time, and you can just hover nearby to see how much gas you have left. That's awesome. I wish you could do that with electric. But I'm worn mentally out after 5 minutes or so anyway!
LiFe batteries are great, too, especially for the transmitter and onboard power. With the lower cell voltages, they just match better. And for the flight pack, you don't even need a BEC if you run a 2s LiFe!
Ahh, you finally found the Spartons! I love these gyros! That's what I run on everything.
Good you hear from you and see your new fleet!! Kent

I like the Multigov and auto mixture on the Trex. It flys forever on a tank and comes down cool to touch while still making gobs of power.
When I get the Frenzy tuned to run as strong as the Trex and still come down cool,it GUZZLES the fuel.
It's funny when I land and shut down the Trex engine.I walk up to pick it up and you can see the Multigov servo leaning the carb as it is cooling off.Trying to make heat even though it's not running.lol...Always have to glance at it when I start it.Wouldn't want to run a tank if the MG servo is stuck too lean.
The smoke, mess and noise are good for me.Suits my personality.lol...Annoys the neighbors.
The Frenzy has no gov. I just use throttle curves to make the right RPM's. Right now it's 85-inh-40-inh-85

Here is one of my first ever tanks of nitro. Learning to tune and set up. Lucky I didn't blow it up really.
This throttle curve was 90-50-90
Way fast and really over revs when the pitch goes flat.
Looking forward to some warmer weather to get a little loose with them.

Made some changes today. Modified a main shaft for the Trex to use a Frenzy head. Installed my 3G on the cyclic but left the Spartan in charge of the tail.

Who knows how many misquitos died? I did see 3 birds fall out of the trees though. I'm assuming the guy with the sniper rifle is a neighbor.
