Went on "you know where" this AM and as Ray says no way to use the PM...It's all there just useless for communicating.
I also had read on replies to may post re: the "super star" thread that "links to ""established"" RC forums..."would be permitted. That must not include RC talk.
Went on to say only a "few" members had been cut off for "aggressive" advertising. The only one I know of is RTF.
I read on another thread canewalker defending Xheli, which kind of surprised me...Definitely he's gone over to the "Dark Side".
I found it amusing that on the "super star" thread that admin speaks, but you can't reply. So instead of just censorship there is a "gag order". Sen. Joe McCarthy must be having a party in celebration.
Happy landings

I saw Nutcaze defending Xheli's right to censor too but what do you expect out of someone who gets free stuff. Alot of questions go unanswered over there now the staff is going to have to start doing there job. Ray

I replied to a couple posts over there too. I left my e-mail address, as I have seen a few of you guys do as well. My last post was on a Falcon/HBFP lift issue.
I explained the great benefits this upgrade had on my heli as well as how mentioning where to get it could end or delete the thread if detected. Then said if you e-mail me I'll send you the link. I have sence referred three people over here and to RTFheli.com with the same reply.
I also feel kinda bad for the noobs over there. I've read through a few threads and many have no real answers. It's like the blind leading the blind over there.

It is to bad for the new one's trying to get into the hobby and have something that doesn't fly. Most of the post that refered to other places where not intended to undermind Xheli but where people helping people to try and get some of these albatrosses to fly. It was a benefit to Xheli and reduced there staff time by others helping out and by getting some of these flightless wonders to work would in-turn help there own sale's. Ray

I agree raygun, I was very happy with Xheli and RCDiscuss for quite a while. Although I had an issue with my first order it was minor and I'm not one to judge that quickly. Then my next couple of orders went very well. I found a lot of info on the forum they ran, as well as getting my unstable brick to fly, Because of the people on the forum(Not Xheli). When I made my third and fourth orders for parts I had shipping and uninformed backorder issues. I've worked in Warehousing/Shipping, Customer service, Sales and Tech support(yea, I know). What ever they are doing over there is a real mess, I really can't figure out what is happening over there. Unless it's only Andy, the owner and some random lacky from the daylabor ? Anyway, If they would clean up, Create a shipping system, Hire some customer support, Get a second phone line, Use invoices instead of shipping labels to pick orders, Carry upgrades for the helis they sell(or at least allow people to know where to get them). I'd buy there again. ;D I will continue to try and help the noobs as best I can being a noob. However I may have to just keep on refering them "elsewhere".

I don't think they understand that the people that where directing them to other site's where just trying to get them flying again. You know how it is when you first hover a heli you want to keep flying not sit and wait for parts. I see nutcaze is calling some of the one's that left ignorant he maybe a good pilot but the worlds full of those, good people with good personalities are hard to find not condescending, know it all jerks, and that is the path he seems to follow despite his help the forum did not have problems till Xheli started to sponsor him and he jumped on board ( Then things started to go to hell ). He stated (he is glad it went down) well of course he is he gets all the attention now and that is what he strives for. But that is just my opinion. Ray

Ray, I started watching your posts from my very first heli. Your posts and demeanor are part of the reason that I continued to watch R/C Discuss. Well, you and a few others, but still you were actually one of my original mentors... still are. I learned a lot from Marc too (before he joined RC discuss). I owe him a debt of gratitude for sure. However, if I would have listened to everything he said, I wouldn't have my Neon/Xeon or any coaxial helicopters, and I would have probably long since left this hobby. He thought the HBFP shouldn't be modded and that coaxials were a waste of money. Luckily he doesn't spend my money for me.
I think ignorant is what you are if you stay somewhere that stifles growth. Xheli was allowing links early on so its was a great place to learn about the hobby. When they started deleting threads, and not allowing links that helped people to "hover" that's when I decided to leave. They stopped being what they originally started out as... a place to discuss the R/C hobby. If me leaving for that reason is considered ignorant, I'll remain blissful. It is what it is now, and we have to move on. I hope that once the dust settles, we can become a forum that fosters free thinking, not tunnel vision.

Thank you that was very articulate and very well thought out lucid comment I wish the afore mentioned person had the same disposition he has alot to offer but does not seem to have much tolerance to be around people. I don't care what you fly if you have a two channel Radio Shack heli. and your having problems you should be able to ask a question and get a solid answer without being beat up because of what you bought. That just make's you feel bad and thats a crime. Its a good clean hobby that everyone should enjoy. Thanks Again Ray

I, unlike Doozer, cannot take the high road on this one. I've seen too many posts by this character that shows the exact "ignorance" he was glad to see leave RCDiscuss. How hypocritical is that? Anger management issues be damned...there's pills for that.
I had some respect for him when he first started posting and providing videos, but when we're called "idiots" and "ignorant", I draw the line. If someone deserves a tongue-lashing, so be it...I've done it myself, but when the derogatory comments are directed at those that don't deserve it, it's just plain wrong.
He's officially off my Christmas list.

I did not say it but I feel the same as you do on that, I thought after his first big explosion he was said he would leave the forum but he came back. I have delt with a lot of people with a uncontrolable temper such as his. If a person has a condition thats one thing but just to blow up because you have no self control or your just spoiled thats another thing since most people cannot spend money like he does I assume its just being spoiled. My local hobby shop here in Houston has lost out on over 1500.00 dollars.... I've spent on line....why? They have the mind set that if you don't buy their KDS helis you're buying junk. They won't even discuss a HBFP! Everything I've learned so far about helis comes from you guys....Dave Herbert, Marc a.k.a. nuttcaze. Bottom line.... you have to keep an open mind. I wasn't going to buy a Trex or KDS from the start. I will be buying one this week. I will be buying several others, but it won't be from my LHS and or places like Xheli. Thanks guys you helped me when others would not! Mike

I was just reading a random subject "over there" and noticed someone posted a link to an online hobby store. I thought you couldnt do that. Also on that same subject a few post later someone posted a link that was removed. I think they have black listed certain members and made it so those certain members cant post links. So its not a blanket policy.

It's a blanket policy insofar as it effects all members. There is however a specific list of sites that are black balled.

I remember my first heli my BS, which 19000 ray rtf and a few others helped me with. kept me flying. and i learned alot from the and passed on what i learned from my own repairs and crashes by writing up my first BS Guide.
So Vance im a Noob to, but what you do, is take all you learn from multiple sorces, and from your own mishaps and do like i did and write a guide about it all.
i am a firm believer that the best way to learn anything is to teach someone else. because when you teach you tend to think more about what you learned rather then what you forgot lol.
as for that other place, its sad to see them do what they did. They are effectivly setting themselfs up for failure as a company because of 2 things. 1 to much sensorship, and 2 putting trust into a ego maniac. if they do not cut the nutt loose or grind him to a halt soon, he will slowly ruin xhelis rep and all the new flyers finding xheli when using google or other searches will get started crash burn and not know where to go next and they will shelf or sell their first heli and never return.
I should have kept my account there and posted if you need help drop me an email as im busy and do not have alot of time currently to follow all the forum threads. then once they email me id respond with a nice reply passing along this site to them for more in depth help from alot of good and friendly flyers.
