You are adjusting HH and servo travel I think that gyro has some other stuff on it as well. I think I sent you a setup page on that when I get home I will check and see if I cannot find it. It does sound like your close but it needs more adjustment. Anything over 50% takes you into HH mode and anything under is rate mode. If the TX is to confusing right now until akphil can answer then you could unplug the single yellow wire from the gyro and do it manually on the gyro.. Ray

Hello ronp did you get it figured out yet in the futaba gyro section turn your switch to you and turn your values to 45 percent that is your starting point this not a spectrum tx so it works the opposite of what Ray told you anything under 50 is heading hold Also you might turn your delay to where to screw slot is straight across the dial about where the slot on one side sits around 20 percent and the other side is about 80 percent that would be a starting point
On top of your gyro you need to turn the gyro to analog servo also the limit pot is for setting your servo travel How you do this hold your stick all the way over to one side and turn the pot dial the opposite direction untill the tail moves away from the full deflection when it just clears stop there and then do the other side the same way
Hope I am not confusing you

Hey guys I'll have time tomorrow to set up the tail. Thanks for the heads up.....ron Phil I assume you mean the toggle switch, move it down or to me. Now the values, the 45%, are set in the TX in the gyro mode? Also the delay you said 20/80. Looking at the gyro from the front, the 20 is on the right side and the 80 on the left side. Am I confusing you now? LOL.

Well guys I think I'm almost there. I tried it on my kitchen table holding it by the skids and it drifted CCW so I slid the servo mounts up a hair and it seems to be pretty stable. I's pretty windy out today so hopefully later I can give it a try. Thanks again for all the input. You guys have a lot of patience. One other thing all the articles I read mention setting the gain. Is this the % value set up in the TX in the gyro mode?. I think Phil said to set it @ 45% so I am assuming he is referring to the gain...ron

Not yet Ray, tail still spinning. Am going to start from scratch, center servo arm and go from there..One day at a time.

It seemed good until about 1/2 throttle and then a pretty fast spin. Seemed like it was just coming off the skids. Actually the rears of the skids were off the floor and then the spin starts

Ronp what servo are you using I know its a anolog servo am wondering what the spects are on this servo if its not fast enough it will cause all kinds of problems I went through a similar thing with my 500 and I was using a analog type servo myself it was just not fast enough to keep up On my 450 copterx I am running a align ds420 servo and a gy401 Futaba
If you set your tail rotor blades verticle and then turn the top blade one facing the main blades when you push left rudder what way does the tail blade point too ? Also you can lower your gain values a little bit at a time
And make sure when you plug your heli in to have the hh toggle switch pulled to you so that you initialize in hh mode some gyros are fussy about that
The light on the gyro should be solid on except when you move your rudder stick then it should blink

Actually the rears of the skids were off the floor and then the spin starts Sounds like your gyro needs to get the servo direction reversed. Easy to check ......... If you go into HH mode, Heli on and motor off, just turn the tail in eithor direction. Watch the tail blades, they should twist to produce thrust in the opposite direction of the turn. If they twist to produce thrust in the same direction, you need to reverse your gyro
