Ya know, I bought my Dad the same plane and after his first light pole experience, I have never been able to get it to fly since. It noses over on hand launch and on a roll out launch.
However, I did make a connector so I could use dean's connectors and lipo's. A 3S 1300 battery fits nicely and packs a whallop! Much more power and you're in an hour instead of 6 hrs with those stupid niCAD green batteries it comes with. The motor holds the voltage and amps just fine.

Lipo is a good conversion.

Well got it back together last night and will give it a try later on this afternoon. No new parts, just ca and tape , to replace the outer skin I had to remove. Hope it doesn't go the way that Gabe's dads did
