Yep, with the right set up. That 100mph plane has all the goodies including a thrust tube. If I go ahead with mine I'll start with 4S and maybe add the 6 blade fan later. I'm not really interested in maximum top speed. Around 80 will be more than enough for me. Another of the J-Power/Blitz series favorite's is the L-39. Particularly, because of the larger battery compartment. Some guys are running 1800's in them. I may get one of those too and an F-22.

Wow. I would imagine that weight will eventually be the deciding factor with the wing area of those mini's. 80 - 100mph with a mini is goin to feel incredibly fast. I'm very interested in a flight report.

As soon as I get some 1000mAh 4S and do some modding of the battery area I'll let you know how she flies.

OK, this is not the setup for me. Full throttle hand launches amount to a death torque roll. Half throttle hand launches, thrown really hard, can amount to a stall. This is a really heavy plane with the big motor, heavier pack, and ESC on 4S. Finding a hand launch compromise is beyond me.
The problem is: this setup needs to be launched with a bungee catapult/launcher. Which would provide lots of speed over the wings, to get it flying, before the EDF power takes over. That, IMHO, kind of negates the idea of a pocket edf; fun anywhere, anytime, that you plug in, and throw.
So, I'm going back to the stock motor and fan, but on 4S instead of 3S. I've heard this works well. I'll keep you posted.

Tried out the stock fan and motor on 4S today. It was doing around 80-85. Plenty quick for this little plane. I hit LVC I was having so much fun.

The stock 5 blade fan couldn't handle the 4S fun for long. Kablooeee!!
So, I ordered a stouter 6 blade unit. When it arrived I went about making the switch. I discovered that the new housing/shroud needed to be modified to fit the stock motor standoff length. What I thought was a fairly standard motor standoff length for the application; bumped into the housing about a 1/4 inch short of the mounting holes. There are obviously longer standoffs than I've seen.
I could have cut down the offending portion of the new housing. Being in a lazy mood; what I settled on was to use the stock housing and the new 6 blade fan. Everything went in OK and tests good. With the great weather we're having here I should be able to fly it this week.
