#48&, %^ll, %u*& and a few other four letter words. Stopped after work yesterday to catch some air time. Put the Commander up first, got a couple of good flights out of it and thought ok one more time and then the BR. Well lets just say I should have gone to the BR. Put the commander in the air and the winds picked up so I thought it was time to bring her in so I turned into the wind and as I did the wing snapped in half and down she came in a slowwwwwwww spin. Not to bad the wing can be fixed but the rubber nose, well that another story So I go to the truck with parts in hand and put that one away and pick up the BR and tx. Walk out to the edge of the field, hook everything up cut the tx on and start to spin up and lift off and the br shoots fwd. So I gather it up and set it down and go to set the elevator trim back a little and nothing, not a thing it's dead. The switch is shot. So anybody know where I can pick up a switch

I think you have to send it to Horizon for repair or find an authorized repair shop or it voids any warranty. I've had all sorts of switches break on both mine.

Did send them an email to see if they could help, still waiting on their reply. If I don't hear anything by this weekend I am going with the metal ones that solitaire found

I broke a couple of switches off my DX5e and HH fixed it for free. The tech even called me to make sure what I wanted done.

Yeah, I had a couple of those crappy switches fail on my DX6i as well. I ordered better ones from Digikey and replaced them myself.
The DX7 has better switches and the JR-9503 even better. I don't understand why they don't use top of the line switches in all these things. They don't cost 'that much' more than crap. === And all of these still use antiquated linear power supplies and NiMh batteries. Ugh.
One of these days I'm going to replace the power supplies in all my transmitters to a switching supply. Then there are no issues with what battery you use and even what voltage. I plan on a switching supply board that can handle 10 to 60 vdc input. Kent

Got home yesterday and there was a small box sitting at the front door from HH.Free replacement switches. Now that is taking care of a customer. All I did was ask where I might be able to find them.

Good news Dave A man with a lame Tx just isn't a whole man. Guess what....I'm lame again After I installed the two they sent me the one on the rudder broke.... Now I have to remove the new one from the throttle and place it in the rudder position. Back to no throttle trim

Dude, that's cool that HH sent you some new switches! Everytime I hear these stories I feel good about my Spektrum purchase. Sucks about the 3rd switch, sounds like they will take care of you though!

Now I'm not sure what to do, ask for more or just bite the bullet and get the metal one. Decisions, decision

Hi Dave, I think it may just be the trim activators that are breaking not the switches themselves. They are fairly fragile T shaped 'rockers' which operate two circuit board mounted tactile switched and one of the arms broke off mine fairly soon after I bought the Dx6i preventing operation of one down trim switch. One call to HH and they sent me four replacement rockers that looked as though a small fillet had been added into the inner corners where the arms joint the centre shaft to reduce the change of breakages. I repaired my old ones in case I ever had a future problem using Devcon 5 minute epoxy and two 90 degree reinforcement sections made from white plastic wall tile spacers. It only takes an hour or so to strip it down, remove the actuators, repair them with 5 minute Devcon and the plastic supports and reassemble and you end up with a far stronger mechanism.

I like your thinking there barryorbik cause that is what I plan on doing this weekend and you are correct in that it is the t's. Very weak area. You would think that HH would come up with a better t than what is install and save themselves some freight cost. Oh well their money all the way around. Oh and by the way welcome to the forum barryorbik good to have you join us
