I have been seeing xheli's ads on here for awhile. I was wondering whats up with that. Are they somehow sponsoring this forum. How ironic. ;D

In no way does Xheli sponsor this forum. The ads your are seeing are the way Proboards pays for this and we are hosted for free on Proboards. If you would like to see this forum without the ads I would suggest installing Firefox and the suggested ad-ons. The following is a link that is located on this forum for all you would need to make your viewing ad free with Firefox. FirefoxIf you choice not to install Firefox you will always see the ads, but as I said Xheli has nothing and I mean nothing to do with what goes on here. This is a member run forum and will stay that way as long as I am here. Dave

I understand that. Oddly enough,I,being one of the loudest xheli bashers, have xheli links and banners all over the web.Even on my myspace page. myspace.com/mckrackin_I hate the way the do business but have no problem taking money from them. I have several clickables in the arsenal.

Ernie You need to understand....we RC Heli Talk Forum make no money from the ads. None what so ever. We don't make money from anybody.
Only our host, Proboards make money from the ads. We get nothing and that is the way I and you want it.
That way nobody can tell us how to run this OPEN forum.........BUILT BY THE MEMBERS, FOR THE MEMBER

Maybe RCDiscuss can learn something from this. Oh, I forget that they can't since everybody is leaving them. (F.O.L. - Fly Out Loud)

BTW, the ads are taylored to the content of the page. When I was posting about my dog, there were all sorts of dog product ads that popped up.

The same type of word recognition software used for censorship by xheli is used here for more effective advertising. Impressive.

Guys, If the ads really bother you I suggest you install the suggested program Firefox, there is another option and that is I can purchase a ad free portion of Proboards at a cost of $7.00 per month and ask the members to help pay for this service. But as I have said in the past everything here so far has been free and I really want to keep it that way so you and I can spend the $7.00 on our helis and not the board. Once again I suggest if you want not to see the ads install Firefox, its free and takes at the most ten minutes to install and then no more ads. Here is the link to it located on this forum: www.rchelitalk.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=nothelirelated&action=display&thread=199Dave

Let's keep it free. I spend enough money flying them. I don't need to pay to talk about it.
The ads are nothing. I don't even see them until someone brings attention to them.
I'm a Dodge guy but I don't turn off my TV over a Toyota commercial.

I have noticed something interesting. Xhelis ad only appears in threads with xhelis name in the OP. The word recognition software sees this as a request for info on xheli.
If y'all would just freakin drop it,the ad would go away. No offense, but putting up threads with xheli in the subject is what brings the ad.
Go through and look.Every xheli banner is over a thread with their name in the subject.
Just drop it and it'll be a non-issue.
