heres 65 at half stick. starting to wonder if its to fast. but is smoother. im messing with the tail gears seeing if i can get rid of that tail vibe i got going on. . also just drove 100 miles round trip. bought som odonnel 15% and a exhaust deflector. my main reason for going was a deflector. first vid was 50 at half then i went 60 wich i didnt make a vid of
figured id get some difrent fuel these vids are only 10% nitro 18% lube. 18% is the bare minumum lube according to the os manual for the 50.
tommorrow i think ill go do some climb outs at the park and see how the tune is under a real load. i dont have temp gauge but the back plate is only warm to the touch..
no hotstarts yet. i gota tell you i had a hold of the head for deer life first time i fired it up with blades on it
thanks for the replies

Looking good! Bobbing's all gone I know when I'm running my gasser too fat it will kick the tail around some, and I get some vibes in the skids. But there are many causes for tail vibrations and wag. Hard to tell without being there. Could just be that the engine is new and it will go away once you break it in I've smoked a couple of clutch liners already... hot starts suck. I hold on to the blades every time. Makes me cringe when I see videos of guys not doing it. It's their skin I guess I haven't had a hot start in a while though. I have a ritual now... check the radio (switches and trim), check the throttle servo horn, grab the blades and crank. Looks like you're havin' fun.

Doozer. This motor is used, I'm a bargain shopper. I bumped the boom back a hair. Also the main needle was floating. The little spring wasn't touching it. I pulled the needle cleaned the passage and bent the spring so its now detenting the needle pretty hard now. I think ill do some climb out tuning tommorrow and maybe some circles like I do on the the sim. I'm feeling good about this bird. I'm not rushed like I was with the 450s no driveway chicken dance and the tails right from the get go. I'm looking forward to the gas conversion Thanks for the reply. here she is with the new deflector installed and wiped down after her first few hovers.

Dude...I don't understand why it's running so slow.
Show me the curves.
That thing is hovering at about 1/4 throttle.

ummm let me get the radio. im at 65% half stick now and hovering at about one mark over half stick. well i havent looked done to see for sure but it feels about like a tick over half.
0 32.5 65 82.5 100.
65% at half stick is right in the center of the 3 has marks on the carb throat
stunt is 100 82.5 65 82.5 100.
i thought in the second vid it was going pretty fast. also the detent spring ddeal wasnt holding the needle so it was floating in flight. ive fixed that and will start over at 2 turn out tommorow. maybe get a few more vids of long climbout.

Seriously though...that engine is barely over an idle.
You're a chainsaw guy....That engine should be over 16,000 RPM

Hovering at 5 or 6.
It was way rich. At 1.25 out skid rocking quit and it sped up good. Very smooth now. Hovering at 80% throttle. Its so smooth now I feel its flyable. With the tail jerks and skid rocking I was starting to think mechanical. Back plates now just alittle past warm. Hoping to burn a few tanks later
