The 8 is a huge upgrade from the dx6I It is amazingly simple to program. The telemntry so far seems quite simple to set up. I have been plugging numbers in that I know . Can't do much untilled I get the CC because pro to power the rx. It was sposed to be here yesterday. A few pics for now. I sure hope ill continue to be happy with this thing

Grats.
You need at least 7 channels now that you are in the nitro camp.

I use a 9ch radio but my 700N has a 7ch 7100R RX. The 7100R eliminates the need for a gov but you HAVE to have a 7th channel in the radio to adjust rev limiting.
I would need an 8th channel for on board glow lighting but I cheat with the GLOve chip.
I have a state of the art 700 nitro running on 7 channels.
Rev limiter. V Bar On board glow lighter with hot start prevention mixing built in the chip.
Can't really think of anything else I could want.

By the way,I'm switching over to JR satellites and the V Bar gov. I'll have no need for my 7100R.
I'd take $50 for it but it will need the back plate sensor and a satellite.

Telemetry is pretty cool the 7100 r does have the data port.
I don't necisarily need telemetry wait the 7100 gains a channel with direct power and still has 8 ports.
Ill take the 7100r but I need to pay you now. Wont have funds later. Doesn't matter when you send it to me I just Goya pay now. Even if its a month or two from now.
I lost your PayPal email

Dude with a onboard rpm sensor with rpm displayed on the TX it would be super easy to adjustment the limiter. Wait the TM module and Rev limiter would both need the same sensor

Going from the dx6i to dx8 gyro gain numbers changed alot.
Dx6i gain is 0to100 dx8 is -100 to 100.
This means a 70% Hh hold in the dx6i is 25-30 in the dx8.

Very true. My gains are actual numbers.
If it recommends 70% you need to do some math on the 6i to get it. Since it starts at 50%...you need to set up 70% of 50%...ie 35% Then add that to 50%...ie 85%
On the radios like mine and the DX8...if it recommends 70% you input 70%
Those numbers are really high.
My gains on the tail are more like 40% which would be 70% on the 6i
There are other methods but I always get close with my method switching from TX to TX

im still figureing this radio out. took me awhile to figure out how to do a throttle cut and throttle hold on seperate switches. ive got throttle cut on the trainer switch and hold on the hold switch.
i realy like this i can land and hit throttle hold and knock the motor down to an idle then if im done flying just hold the trainer switch to kill it, instead of having to trim the throttle down like i was with the dx6I
and ofcourse im still haveing the rx freaking out. ive been researching dang near all night and all i can come up with is the bec most likly isnt putting out enough and the rx goes dead then is searching for a signal. i think you said it was a power issue from the start.
anyways im planning to leave the ar8000 on board from now then toss the cc bec pro on whenever it gets here and hopfully this fixes the dang problem. the castle bec has been due here for the last like 4 days so any day now it should be here and power issues should be resolved.
not sure what site i found this at but it seems to be common with esc providing bec power
OK guys, I'm back with answers.
1. I did plug the servos in correctly. 2. The bind was fine, I had the satellite installed. 3. The TX and RX bound completely fine, it was only until i plugged all 3 cyclic servos in and started moving the sticks did I get a brown out. The symptoms exhibited were browning out and all my servos would start moving like crazy by themselves, followed by complete loss of controls.
Now here's the solution and how I got to it:
Took it to a hobbyshop and had my friend look at it. It was doing the same thing even when powered by an independent receiver pack. In fact, it actually shorted the receiver pack. We hooked it back up to my esc, the castle creations phoenix 75, and measured the current draw. Voltage dropped steadily all the way down to 4.1v, and that's exactly when my receiver would reboot itself.
I plugged in some JR8717s and measured the draw on that thing also. Although voltage did drop, it dit not go below 4.5v, and therefore the receiver never rebooted itself. Needless to say, the Spektrum H6040 were pulling too much current from the built in BEC on my esc. If I had the castle link I could have tried upping the amp on the bec, but I just stuck with the 8717 servos instead because I didn't want to take a chance of something like that happening midflight. Even though it might have been ok on the bench if I increased the current, I could still experience a brown out when my esc cut off for low voltage
