Well,I've run two packs through it now and I'm still just hovering around. The DX7 just feels so alien to me for some reason. The helicopter feels odd too. I love it and see some crazy s#!t coming soon.It just doesn't feel like part of me like the others yet.
I did get a video of the first pack.I'm downloading the new software to play it.I hope it comes out. The Helicommand is sick.

Here's the vid for the first pack.A little wimpy but it just feels so different. Check out the rock solid tail though.

Amazing, Ernie. Amazing there is no snow in Ohio ;D Absolutely solid hover though. And those monster blades cutting through the air are music.

Well I have run six packs through it now and still I'm very uncomfortable with it.It has been a few months since I've flown but I didn't expect to lose it completely though. I think maybe the price tag is holding me back. I'm sure I'll snap out of it though ;D

Nice flight. I can imagine that the helicommand would give you a kind of disconnected feeling. Like cruise control in a car when you first start to use it. The feel of the DX7 is smoother too. That, along with the inherent stability of the big heli, would add up a significant change in the feel of the flying experience you're used to. I'm sure that won't last long though...A couple more packs and then the mayhem will begin. ;D
Happy landings

Disconnected.....Mmmm hmmm, you hit the nail on the head 19. Run two more packs this morning. One without the helicommand. Without was a lot more comfortable believe it or not. Cool thing though, when I came back to land,I clicked on the helicommand and it just snapped to and stood straight up.Handy tool for quick landings.

price tag is a huge factor for me. Sometimes my hands get sweaty and start to hurt I'm so nervous. I see dollar signs. I can take my little HBFP's up with reckless abandon, 70 bucks is a servo or a canopy on one of these big guys.
In the video it was constantly creeping forward, was that you on the stick? Maybe you explain this, I had the sound down. I'll watch it again, with sound.

I was messing with the trims. I've got it rock solid now though. I'll tell you something though. The tail gear was turning on the tail boom from the torque of the drive shaft.I tightened it this morning. If it turns again,I may have to locktite it.

Three more packs and the tailgear is staying put.I guess it won't require locktite. This GP750 gyro is the best I've ever owned.Incredible!!! On the last pack,,I got a little more ballsie.Had to go to idle up once.I've been in sport mode till now.Got too high and it wouldn't come down.Had to go idle up for the negative pitch to get down. It was funny. The second I flipped it to idle up the temptation to roll it over backwards became almost unbearable. ALMOST.I was able to resist for now.Maybe in a few more days. I'm really waiting on warmer weather.
On a side note.... My Maxpro X6 charger is working out nicely. It charges my six cell 2200mah batteries in about one hour.Nice. I need to go to Staples and get a serial to usb adapter so I can moniter the packs with my laptop though.

I can't take credit for that except that I paid for it. The Helicommand does all the hovering for me ;D

After another pack the tail gear turned on the boom again. I went ahead and took it off and put a smidge of blue locktite on the end of the tail boom.As well as the two screws that hold the tail gear on. Taking the gear off was as simple as anything I've ever done. Two screws and the push/pull rod on the rudder. When you put the gear back on make sure the drive shaft goes all the way in the beveled gear. Also, make sure the rudder is 90* from the heli.I sed a speed square to check it. Here,I'll show you what I mean....
