With the extra power you're going to break stuff, I had the same problem with my Mini-T. It's a good thing your beefing it up, that's one of the great things about name brand stuff is that there are always upgrades for them. Just don't get to crazy with aftermarket aluminum, aluminum parts will bend in a hard crash and you'll wind up paying more to replace them.

Also I never buy stuff right from the company that made it. The prices on just about everything will be higher at the Team Associated site vs. online stores like Amain, Tower and Horizon.

Factory Team Upgrade: 
This isn't bling. Carbon Fiber chassis and top deck... the belt's out in the open so floor space is valuable:

Start Upgrade:

There's two differentials that you can use. You can use the stock diff that or you can use the "Factory Team" upgrade ball differential. I chose to use the ball diff, but, this allowed me to use my metal MIP outdrives I originally bought but couldn't use.


Need to make sure you get plenty of grease so the balls will stay


Two size balls. The big ones go in the pulley, and the little ones are for the thrust bearing


I used a T pin, but any small pointy device would work.


Lube up the long and short outdrives, then install the washers. There is a flat edge on the ID so you can only install them one way.

Hard to take pictures when you have to use both hands, but here it is done. You just need to make sure that you don't over-tighten the bolt that goes through. Oh, and if you lose the bolt to the MIP diff, the Associated bolt WILL NOT WORK. Too short. Luckily I had bought a rebuild kit and it had an extra bolt. I looked forever... just ... gone...


Test fit for extra shims... didn't need them. Perfect fit.


Spur gear mount. I like and don't like this at the same time. You have to build the spur assembly onto the mount, but it allows you to see your mesh.


I tried the 66T spur again... nope... had to take the whole assembly apart and rebuild it.


I love this mount... makes motor installs a breeze


Only a couple of aluminum pieces in the kit. You use some parts from the old kit


This I'm getting used to. The top plate rides in between the belt so you can't use that real-estate on top :/ but you can check your belt easier

That's a beautiful carbon fiber chassis, should be a lot more rigid now. Parts for my RC18T came in so hopefully I have all the parts to fix it now.
