I was just sitting at the terminal in SFO and watched 6, F-18 Blue Angels take off. 4 in formation and 2 trailing behind. Apparently there's an air show over at Fisherman's Wharf.
They did a few flybys. A C-17 made an appearance as well, did a HUGE dive on final, pulled up, and greased a landing, barely using any length of the runway!
Next flyby from the angels was in formation. They broke apart in hard rolls right above the runway, made a final approach and landed one right after another. I was amazed at how slow they came in and how quick they stopped compared to the commercial beasts I see every week.
What a treat!

Yes, very cool. I was lucky enough to see an earlier version of that airshow in SF a few years ago. I was on the top deck of a cruise ship and could see all the way from past the bay bridge to oakland. The Angels flew under the bridge and did all of the stunts and formations they are so famous for. That plus all of the other aircraft. It was indeed a treat.
