Ok lets see everyones Pro's and Con's list for these components. We have a supplier thread, now its time to have our own ranking of parts thread.
So here we go. (note please make comments on each part, and supply brand and nomenclature if you have it thanks)
1. Tx/Rx 2. Servos 3. ESC 4. Gyro 5. Misc (could be battery, motor's, 4-1, 5-1, Blades, Frames ect)
Rating suggestion 1-5 on Weight, Size, Longevity, Ease of use, Materials, Price, Availability
Can rate each one with the above or give one overall rating ... would be nice to have at least 3 of the above listed in your rating tho, IE price, Weight, Size

1.Spektrum.I personally use a DX7 tx and AR7000 7channel rx and an AR6100E 6channel rx 2.Align and Hitec.I prefer Align for the quality vs. price issues.Aligns are rebuildable as well. 3.Align or Scorpion.Again, medium price for top shelf stuff. 4.Align or Futaba for speedy corrections when coupled with a fast digi servo on the tail. 5.I currently prefer Scorpion motors for the ungodly power for lower prices. Carbon fiber is the way to go for blades and frames. Outrage batteries are my favorite but I'm hearing some really cool stuff on Hyperion packs.

I haven't come across a con yet.Nothing. Fast.Easy to understand and program.Bind in seconds. No glitches ever. Longer range than my eyes work.
Great stuff.
