Ok here is the deal, just discovered a broken wire on one of my lipos...at the battery end. What now? Ordered a new one from RTF, plus a few other odds and ends.

If the break is right at the end of the battery, I'm not sure I'd mess with it, Dave. If there is some pigtail left, you might be able to strip and solder the wires together and then shrinkwrap it.

Have not cut the wrap away yet to see if the wire its self broke or if it came loose from one of the cells. Will check into it tonight and let you know. Dave

I have cut the wrap back and have repaired them when you get done put a drop of silcone sealer on the wire as a strain relief and then retape the battery. If your careful you can fix it it didnt grow together. ;D ;D Ray

Most of the ones I have seen break are on the positive or the negative side the outside ones very rarely the middle if you cant reach where it broke off solder in to the pos or neg power wire and use some liquid tape to cover the repair. Ray

OK cut a straight pin 1/4 long - the wire that is out where you can hold it - stick the cut off end in the wire - leave 1/2 of it sticking out - slide a piece of swrink wrap on it - grab the wire with a pair of plyers and stick the pointed in the other half -heat and seal - low buck people like me have low buck repair ideas ;D = VIC

Wire broken off at the solder joint. Dave

Wire broken off at the solder joint. Dave Yep, that is my only problem with solder joints. Add vibration, and that is were they tend to break. No good alternative here, though. Solder is the safe and logical choice. Sorry about your dead battery. Believe me, I can empathize
