I was looking through an RC magazine and saw an AD for Guai, they had flybarless helis. From 200 size to 500. Is this going to be the future for helis? Im also wondering if the 200 size could fit on other helis, like HBFP or Falcon. Would be a cool conversion.

from what i have read the flybarless setup is more unstable but flys very well in 3d and im guessing due to less drag cause the paddles are missing. from what i have seen there are lots of places to get lots of diffrent flybarless setups for many diffrent heli's. gaui is not the only one i have seen Trex with them also already.

Flybars are going to be around for a few more years on the less expensive helis. Sooner or later almost everything will be flybarless as the more expensive flybarless electronics become less expensive due to volume.
Happy landings

Sooner or later almost everything will be flybarless as the more expensive flybarless electronics become less expensive due to volume. Happy landings I agree. Flybarless will be the future. As for the Gaui, I have a setup for my T-Rex 450, I have had it in a hove several times now. Simply put the GAUI unit will work but is a challenge to set up, I still do not have it right. As for the Gyro that is built in it is not quite as good as a Futaba GY401 so I have now bypassed that entirely. I would not recommend this for a beginner in the hobby unless that have someone that can help them. As much as I like the idea behind the Gaui I would go with a more proven Flybarless setup until Gaui can come out with an updated model. Simply put they work and work well, they just require a lot of patience to set up. Then again I am sure that the others do to. By comparison most of the others have several loyal followers and you will find it easier to get help. This is just based on my experience with the Gaui.
