finally got a day off where there was next to no wind. Charged up battery checked everything out, put on training gear. went out and heli got a tad out of control so set it down a bit hard, canopy poped off.
Then instant spin out of control over and over, tail gear gone.... motor is fine just missing teeth on tail. so now back to waiting to fly it again.

Learning a single rotor sucks at times but is so rewarding in the end you just won't believe it. Hang in there dude.

Hey coffin I had a thought ( you probably see the smoke from there) i have an eagle fifty and i needed a tail set up so i went with parts in hand and went looking and found that eflite has the same tail as my eagle fifty motor gear and rotor blades were all the same maybe you could look at the lhs in your area to see if they might fit. might get u in the air faster

i have two shops near me, one specialises in rc cars, the other shop carries mainly 30 and 50 size helis so parts is order only where i live .... as the second shops main is airplanes....
no biggie i usually order spare parts with my new helis. but as i bought this one off RTF i didnt think to place a parts order at a retailer so my own fault lol.

Jay, I hate to see that you are not up in the air. I'LL send you a new tail motor as you should be up and not grounded. Carbon brushed Tail motors last about 30 flights on average so you should get a couple next time when you order. The other way to avoid the high cost is to get a brushless tail motor. I haven't replace the brushless tail motor yet except for the rotor blades. Anyway, please confirm your mailing address by PM or e-mail at Sales@rtf-heli.com so I can send you the free tail motor.

Coffin, Sorry to hear about your HBFP first flight, but I,ve done worse than that just trying to dial in the g2 on my work table. Main thing is you have now started your single rotor flying. I only gets better/worse or worse better from here.
Rt, good CS, too bad we can't clone you, we need more vendors like you!

RTF its cool man, no good flying days again anyways, got constant winds over here. also it was not the motor it was the drive gear that stripped ... only 2 bucks plan to order a couple them and main gears as well as spare blades.... thanks alot for the offer man but not needed. save a free motor for someone who really needs it especially with this crappy economy.
