Well, My worst crash to date, but still not bad enough to piss me off...yet. I haven't torn it down to completely access it. I was doing well on my second battery of the evening, even though it was a little too windy and it was pushing me around a little. Well, I was doing real figure 8's for the first time side-to-side and rather fast and some real good FFF but I let it get away from me. I wasn't even doing anything special. I was bringing it back to me tail in when I misjudged how much the wind was "helping" me. I let it go straight over my head. I lost orientation and tried to spin the tail around when I should have pushed the elevator stick forward and given it a little more throttle. I was only about 15 or 20 feet up, so it didn't take long to find the dirt. Plowed in blades first and it flipped over on the tail rotor. So far, the damage seems to be the main shaft, tail shaft tail blades. several linkages, flybar and a few other odds and ends. Nice new CopterX stuff and I wiped it all out in on the 5th battery. O well. Part of the hobby

Crashes really really are part of it but can be a bit dis-heartening anyway. Glad you can take it in stride dude At least you know exactly what you needed to do to avoid it. Next time, that is what you will do ;D

Sorry to hear it BT. Live, learn and fly again (after its fixed). Dave I think I have almost everything to get it back up in the air tomorrow. I might have to stop by the LHS to pick up some tail blades, but that's about it. Not too bad. I figure I had about 30 to 35 packs through it since my last fender bender. I was way past due ;D

No matter how good you get there will always be another crash in your future. Stretching the time between accidents is the goal because it's really a matter of "when" not "if". Getting them 30 packs a part is making great progress. Happy landings

Not true, BT. 30 to 35 packs since your previous is pretty good, IMO. Just think back on the days when you were chasing the HB down a few neighbours yards.

Back in the air. I ran a couple of batteries through it today to check everything. Now if I could get some calm weather, I'd be good to go.
