Why dos it always seem that the same servo quit's I am on my third servo on the eagle 50 left aeleron i just put the third one in this morning I know the stock servos are crappy junk at best but two are still working fine right out of the box the one that quits is always stripping gears it seem's but on closer inspection the bushings are wearing out and the motor moves away from the rest of the gears then just spins freely does anybody have a clue as to why it does this both the other two servos are like this any thoughts appreciated

You got me on that one, Phil. You wouldn't think there'd be more torque on an aileron servo than on the elevator, but there could be some extra forces that I'm not familiar with.
The pushrods are in the same holes..IE the same distance from the center of the servo?
What about changing them all out for metal gears?

yes pushrods are the same lenght and same holes everything moves freely no binding it is a puzzle for sure the new servo is a metal geared one moves at same speed as the originals talk about hard to find item had to go to Anchorage to find it if this one works out i will get two more of them and then i will have as much money in servos as to buy another one of those heli's all over but the servo issue is still a puzzle to me

Just a shot in the dark...is there full travel on that servo? Is it limiting out one way or the other? There just seems to be way too much torque if it's wearing out the bushing.

I had the same problem when I bought the Walkera #22E. I wished Walkera/ Exceed would have used standard size 9 gram servos. These smaller 7.6-8 gram servos strip easier. I replaced all the servos with a new set from Walkera. With the brushless mod installed, the servos appear to be working better. So far no stripping after about 300 full flights. My only problem now is the cost of replacing the tail motors at $7.999(USD) a pop. I couldn't get the tail motor to be brushless. Exploring other ideas and will share them wen I have a solution. I have also noticed that the E-SKY HB CP2 heli which is now discontinued used the 9 gram digital servos found on the E-SK HBFP heli. Too bad they discontined this model.

I had a thought hope you guys don't see the smoke from there. the servo that always goes out is the left one ? here comes the thought that servo always lifts up to counteract left drift while leaving the ground is it possible to wear out the housing allowing the gears to move away from the motor pinion on the servo ? when i took the servos apart there were no stripped gears but the motor pinion and the gear train were not engaged each spun seppreately. with out touching

Interesting thought Phil. I was about ready to call the fire dept. ;D
Those are some pretty light weight servos, so I guess that's not a bad theory. If it is the cause; possibly your swash isn't level and beside just countering the left drift you may be working that aileron servo the rest of the time you're flying.
Happy landings

i have looked at every picture of the 50 - it looks as if the servo arm is not directly under the swash plate ball - when the servo moves its pushing and pulling on the shaft at a angle - if you can get a servo that will put the arm farther out and under the swash ball it will operate smoother - on the servo measure from the mounting flange to the shaft end - find one that is longer - the straighter it is the better it will work and the less drag it will have ;D = VIC

thanks I will look at the possibility of finding a longer servo or possibly moving this one forward to more directly under the swash will let you know what happens
