Hi everyone, I've been aware of this board since RCDiscuss started censoring posts back in February. I was a total newbie then, so I stuck around over there. But I come over here a read posts now and then. My first heli was actually an Eco Piccolo many years ago, didn't have the patience then I guess and moved on to something else that had more of my interest at the time (my 2004 corvette). But earlier this year I checked out my first co-axial, and bought two Walkera 5#10's. Great little flyers, a blast to zip around the house. End of March, early April, picked up a HBFP. It sat for a month before I even really got to try it much. Now I can finally hover reasonable well, but she still gets away from me now and then. About a month ago I bought a Blade 400, its been sitting on my work bench, but I think this weekend I am finally going to break it out and give it a try. Anyone here fly the Blade 400? Pros/Cons? Any words of advice

You know it's funny...Somebody was just raving about their 400 I just can't find it.
The 400 flies very smooth; usually right out of the box. As with any CP; it's going to lift and slide left which you just with right aileron and get it up 2-3ft where it should settle into a nice hover.
If you can fly the FP pretty well you'll be amazed at how much easier it is to fly the 400.
Good luck and let us know if you run into any issues.
Happy landings

From what Ive read, the blade 400 isnt a bad heli, just a little pricey for a 400. But good thing is LHS sells their parts.

19000rpm - I just need to do the pre-flight checks and spin her up This heli comes with nice clear instructions so thats always helpful - mightyxxwhitey - Yeah, I wanted something I could easily gets parts for. Also seems the stock electronics are better than some other less expensive 400/450 helis, besides I did get this for $350.00 , brand new, with DX6i TX -

I totally forgot I even started this thread....doh! Sorry guys - Been flying the Blade when I can, it's just sooo darn hot now. I either try to fly early in the am or in the evening. My hands start to sweat I start slipping off the joy sticks (I use my thumbs only) But here's a pic of her in a hover. I have to say, this was a true RTF heli. I pulled it out of the box, charged it up, did a pre flight check and had her in the air

flying high, I got a blade 400 a few weeks back, very nice heli. I love how smooth it is. Here is a link for everything you need to know: www.slyster.com/heli/b400bible.html#fourteenIt's a nice smooth heli. What kind of transmitter did you get? I got a BNF (bind and fly) version with a Dx7, but the setup is in the manual. It's basically a nice 450 sized heli, nice and smooth and better than anything you'll get at xheli. The stock servos grind the gears all of the time. You'll be good to go if you're just hovering around, but you'll want to upgrade the servos and gyro if you plan to flip that baby upside down, and if you are progressing as you already are, that time will come before you know it. There are cheap options, but you might end up spending another $300 to get it the upgrades. At that point, it's as good as a Trex. You can always go out and buy a bunch of the replacement servo gears and keep working with the stock servos, but they give out easily, and certainly don't survive much crashing. The gyro doesn't hold very well, but it's sufficient for hovering and FFF. Anyway, check out the link I provided, it will help you many times with that heli down the road.

I bought my Blade 400 RTF, (w/the DX6i) and it was just that too - charged the battery and I had her in a hover. Probably could still use some tweaking, but I am still learning and getting a feel for things. All I am doing now is hovering and trying to 'work the box' corner to corner. What do you think of the BlueRayPE compared to the Blade 400?

Tried without training gear, but was VERY hairy landing it. I have the smaller training wheels that xheli sells now until I get a bit better at landing
