No worries FH, we're all here to help each other. The Blueray 450 is actually quite comparable to the Blade 400. I find that they both have sub-par stock servos and gyros. The pros with the Blade 400 is that any local hobby shop will have the parts, so you don't have to continue ordering from online and waiting. The great thing about the BR is that is is a Trex 450 SE V2 clone, so all of the parts are compatible. I prefer the spectrum transmitters over the Exceed RC one that comes with the BR. The Dx6/7 is just so much easier to modify as you please. I also love the fact that I can put a bunch of my planes and helis on this same transmitter. Of course, you can always get a spectrum receiver for the BR and get it on the Dx6 as well. Really, they are both very comparable, and once you put about $300 worth of hop-ups on either, they become a great heli. This size is WAY fast, which is great for acrobatics when you're comfortable. Keep up the hovering man, the Blade 400 is great in that mode. You'll find a world of difference when you replace that gyro though. There is a nice cheap gyro called the G401B (http://www.cnchelicopter.com/servlet/the-1403/xmhobbies-digital-gyro-G401B/Detail) and it works pretty well. I'd recommend at least changing to that if the $$ is tight. Once you're comfortable hover, mess around with the settings on your Dx6i and get to know how it works. Try flipping to ST1 or ST2 on the Tx and hover in that mode. Once you're comfortable going into idle/3D/stunt mode and just hovering, you'll be a step ahead when you want to do some 3D. It takes some getting used to dealing with the higher head-speed, yet you can always adjust your throttle curve on the Tx. Side note: each mode (norm/st1/st2) has it's own trim, so be sure to set the st1 and st2 to the same trimming as the norm mode once it is all calibrated in.

Well, I just happen to have me a little project See below - [ My first rx ready heli - never done this before, all helis so far have been RTF - been watching alot of vids on set up. Im still not real familiar with the DX6i, but I will be learning now. I think I will copy over the settings for the Blade and use that for a guide. Btw, noticed anything about this 'rx ready' heli ?? I also did check out BTCat's test on Futaba GY401 vs. XMHobbies G401. I am sure I will be upgrading servos and gyros as I go

IMO i think the blade is a better bird from the get go. just cause there has been so much little cr*p that i've had to fix on the blue ray like the tail gear assembly for one, the boom block in the frame to hold the boom, cause it likes to twist, didn't care for the gyro, i think the eflight one is better (barely), and most of all the RX & TX, not that good. but with all the mods, and trex upgrades i sure love my blue ray, now that its mostly trex now. align ray just some food for thought

fergie, I meant to ask you, what lipo packs do you use on your Blade? The E-flite ones are way over priced -

fergie, I meant to ask you, what lipo packs do you use on your Blade? The E-flite ones are way over priced - allthough the blade isn;t flyable yet, due to electronics. i've flown my buddy erics a bunch. i use the same lipos as my blue ray outrage 2200mAh 25c, and flight power 2100 & 2200 mAh 20c & 25c batteries on both. but these lipo's aren't cheap more expensive than the stock eflight ones from what i hear the "zippy" lipo's or the hyperion's are well priced and have great performance.

Those Zippys are great. About $17 at HobbyCity/HobbyKing. Buy a bunch so the shipping doesn't effect the cost per unit so much.
One of my first CP's was a hopped up Blade 400. Very nice, but had an offer I couldn't refuse so.... ;D
Happy landings

I've bought one eflite pack, 2100mAh, but it sucks. It does not last as long as my 1800mAh and I swear the tail does not hold when I use the 2100 mAh pack. There is definitely a very noticeable difference. I got it from my LHS. Its the 2nd one too, the first one had a bad cell in it. I will have to check into the outrage, flight power and zippys -

Its almost always sold out, it was only available for a few days, I ordered one day and the very next day was out of stock, and there was a delay in shipping it, my guess is they just shipped me a RTF with out the TX www.xheli.com/revolution-450-arf.html
