Well doing so good so far, I decided to try and fly nose in. Well It didn't go to well. I almost lost it the first time, and should of just stopped while I was ahead. Nope!!! I tired again and crashed. Minor damage, not a bad crash, but enough to stop me flying. The battery looks fine, just damaged the casing Blades also look ok. Ill sand the edges down

Very very common damage for a G2. Keep at it.It gets easy after a while.

What's really weird is that I can nose in all day long on the sim, but for some reason I have a mental block with the real thing.
Mighty, your G2 piro's fast, so if you give yourself some altitude, you can piro back to tail in if you lose it. That's what I do. (Was a Mckrackin recommendation, if I remember right!) I can usually maintain a nose in for a minute, but then something goes haywire in my mind and I need to turn it back around. It's not automatic by any means, yet. Everything else is almost automatic. Tail and both sides in are good. Nose in FFF is fine. It's just that nose in hover, dammit!
We'll get there! Kent

Practice, practice. I had a tendency to try nose in too low at first. Piro to Nose In, hold a moment and then keep it going around to tail in until you can slowly increase the nose in time.
Altitude is your friend. If things go wrong you have more time to recover. ;D
Happy landings
