So here it is, finally, after several MONTHS of waiting for my helicopter to come in and for parts and all that good stuff that didn't catch on fire. This is my first flight attempt in my back yard. Not a lot of room so nothing crazy. I took it to the park to fly the second battery through it, but the hat-cam was pointed too far down and all you could see is the shadow. Still sounds cool though.
There will be more videos to follow this afternoon, hopefully. ;D
Now I just have to wait a while before I can charge these 6-cell batteries again.

Yeah. So Ern, did you have trimming issues when you were in stunt mode as opposed to normal mode? I thought I remembered you mentioning something about that somewhere in here. What do you do? When I put this thing in st1 it starts wanting to drift off to the right, even with the HC off.

Rcd, if you are using a DX7 or maybe others, each flight mode maintains it's own trim. You need to verify that each flight mode has zero trim before first flight.
I had that bite me in the butt before, too. Kent

OK, I've got a DX7 so it looks like I'll just have to trim it out in each mode then. Thanks

WooooHooooo!!!! Congrats RC,,,,fantastic!! I'm so glad to see you finally getting some air time. Keep an eye on the ESC ,,BUT,,,I think it was about the 15th or 20th flight,,around there,,,I noticed that the ESC was running cooler. Not sure why,,,,maybe after everything on the heli gets broken in and lossened up,,it doesn't draw as much power. Now,,,my ESC is right about 7 degrees above ambien temp at landing,,,barely noticeable any heat. The motor,,well,,,that puppy just runs hot-hot-hot. I thru caution to the wind tonight and flew two packs with only 20 minutes between. 1st flight,, the motor got to 165 degrees,,,the second,,,200 degrees. I've been all over the internet and everyone bitches that this motor runs real hot but it doesn't seem like anyone ever burns one up! I oil my motor bearings ever 5 flights.
Get out in the open and cut 'er loose! Have fun!!

I had that bite me in the butt before, too. Kent NO WAY!!!! Yes way ----I totally missed that . I told Ernie that my 600 was jumping when I went to Stnt 1 but if I shifted straight to Stnt 2 it didn't jump. I never knew that each mode had it's own trims. I read your post an hour ago so I looked at my Tx and lo-& behold,,,,the elevator trim in Stnt 1 was ALL THE WAY BACK. I have no idea how it got like that,,,been that way forever I guess. So,,,I grabbed my two batteries and ran to the goose-field. I matched up all three trims and guess what? The heli doesn't budge a bit when I shift from Nor-Stnt1 & Stnt 2. It was a PERFECT evening,,,,absolutely no breeze at all. I got him dialed in perfect,,,,,I did a no-hands hover for about 7 seconds with the HC off! It flies a lot better in Stnt2 now that I have the trim set! Thanks Kent,,,,,I would have gone to my grave before I figured that out on my own!! ;D Duuuuuhhhh!!

Thanks Randy. Oh I certainly did just that. After I charged up these batteries again I was right back out there, and I finally survived some 3D! These things do 3D so much better than any stock heli from E-flight, Exceed, E-Sky...you name it. I was discouraged with the 3D because the Blade CP+ and Blade 400 had such a hard time. Now I know it's because of sub-par servos, motors and gyros. Anyway, here are the videos. On the first one, I just did a few flips and rolls, but my hands started shaking like crazy! I brought it in and flew on of my plane while it cooled off, then I flew the second battery for the second video. The 3D went much better in the second one and I even held the invert for a little while. Even got some sloppy tic tocs in there towards the end. I think it was the last flip I had the HC off and I don't really notice much of a difference with it. The 600 is so solid already! The heli gods are finally pleased with me. I'm so high, and this time I didn't even smoke anything. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Great flying RC,,,you are a better pilot than I am. The first video was great,,,,I could tell how anxious and excited you were getting. When I decide to go fly my 600,,,as soon as I pick it up to put it in the truck, my heart starts thump'n. The first 20 times I flew it,,,my knees would start knocking. Good stuff!!
Ain't it the truth,,,,,as big as this heli is,,it can get out of sight QUICKLY,,,,you need a lot of room. I love doing inverted climbs,,,start inverted at about 10 feet and goose it,,,wow.
I can't wait to see what you can do with it once you get comfortable with it. I'm still intimidated with piros.
{{{thumbs up!!!}}} Good stuff RC!!

I don't get the shakes anymore unless someone is watching. My cousins kids and their friends came over today and talked me into flying and it was hard as hell.I got nervous for some reason. For one,two of the kids were there once when I crashed and it almost hit them.
Anywho,great job dude.Keep it up.Literally ;D
