Just bought the 500 series kit! On sale for $139 at Xheli! Whooooo hooooooO!
Couldn't say no at that price.
Can't wait till it gets here so I can......well....look at it for now ;D

Hahahahahaahaa!!! Dude,,,,you are toast now!! ;D As good as you are with that Blueray,,,you are gonna have a blast with a 500. Now comes the '''Gotta-Haves"',,,,,gotta have a motor,,,gotta have an ESC,,,gotta have some servos,,,,gotta have a good gyro,,,,gotta have some batteries,,,,,oh yea,,,gotta have some blades(that kit has none). Won't be long and you will 'gotta have' a 600!! ;D
I 'like' the 450s, but they are too small and I hate working on them. I can't seem to get the tail set on one to save my life. I'm building my 500 and of course, you know I have the 600. Just ask my wife,,,,bigger IS better!!! ;D I'm dreaming about a 700 nitro some day,,,but I spent all my play money,,,,,,gotta put the wife back to work before I can get one!! ;D
I really look forward to hearing your thoughts on the 500,,,you are in for a BLAST!!

You will LOVE that 500!
What amazes me is that they can even sell the thing for that price. I was happy to pay the $179 when I bought mine!!!
These have a LOT more aluminum than even the Align Trex 500 ESP!
That said, there are some parts on the Exi that are not as good as Align.

Be sure to check ALL of the shafts on the heli. I have had new shafts from Exi come pre-bent. The shafts with pressed on gears are the worst. I only use Align shafts now.
Same with the Flybar rods. The Exi's are like coat hanger wire. Carp.
Gears. The Exi autorotation gear that came on mine, as well as a replacement Exi came pre-warped. They don't turn straight and there's nothing I have found to fix it, other than to buy Align gears.
I had the Exi one way bearing go bad after about 10 flights. At first it started to click like a bicycle one way bearing, then it started slipping. I replaced with Align. No problems since.

It's really not bad!! When you can buy a complete amazing carbon fiber and CNC aluminum helicopter for way less than the cost of just an Align 500 Head, that's really cool!!
I think you'll be blown away by the kit.
