I was in New Mexico, sitting in front of the television with my dad watching the take off and the landing. I was 6 years old. We had just moved from Houston and our neighbor was named Armstrong. I though he was THE Neal Armstrong. ;D

On July 17th my Uncle Bob (pilot in 3 wars & test pilot at Edwards where he knew some of the astronauts that were in the test programs there) was flying a specially equipped NASA C-130 tracking and taking photos of Challenger through the entire launch and seperation. The Best Seat In the House until the lunar landing. ;D
Me? I was watching it on TV and tuning my '68 Hemi Road Runner. The only car I ever regretted selling. ;D
Happy landings

I remember it like it was yesterday I was fourteen years old sitting in front of the tv watching the whole thing in black and white. If I shut my eyes I can still see it in my minds eye. I was a big space freak I even got a small reel to reel tape recorder one year for Christmas. I can remember sitting in front of the tv during one of the launches of a Gemini capsule and recording it. Somewhere, I think at my moms' I have a bunch of old Birmingham news paper clipping about several of the Apollo missions. Even got into model rockets with my older brother and still have some of those stashed away at moms' house.
