OK,,,,Kent got me going on this,,LOL Way cool!!
This is a FULL gallon jug of water,,,,,weighs 8.35 lbs plus the rope. My heli's flying weight is 7.3 lbs!!
WoooHooo!!
If you turn up the volume you can tell the heli was not struggling at all. Once I got the rope tight,,,,I barely bumped the throttle up and it lifted. I had a LOT of throttle pitch yet to go. And yes,,,I pussed out,,,when I was bringing it back towards me, it picked up speed quickly,,,I didn't want it to swing so I laid it down close enough to land at my 'heli-pad'. I was vibrating pretty bad at that point,,,and I proved it will do it, so I didn't press my luck.
After seeing that,,,I know it would lift double that,,,,not sure I have the nads to try it,,,,I'm thinking 20 lbs is doable.
I flew out the rest of the battery pack and I'm up-loading it now,,,I'll post it here when it's done!!!
FUN STUFF!!
Here's the rest!!

Elk, that was very cool - Someone needs to come up with a heli basket for R/C helis - maybe with enough of us, we could put out a small fire - ;D

That's WAY COOL, Elk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are a wildman! That was great flying too, with that much weight under it! When I lifted the 500 with my 450, it started swinging pretty bad...
I'm still chuckling! Kent

Elk,....Hell...RANDY...You are fast becoming one of my heli heroes.
Screw Szabo,Kraus,Youngblood and all those goons.
You and me are flying over our heads day in and day out.Having fun and threatening our equipment like none of those guys ever do anymore.THAT IS WHAT IT MEANS TO HAVE FUN!!!!!
Push yourself and the people around follow suit. Leaders are naturally reckless and I find myself following you more and more.
Way to go Top!!!!

OK,,,,this was flip'n crazy stuff!!! Watch this; I filled two gallon jugs to the top with water and weighed them along with the rope,,,,exactly 18 lbs. Thats 2 1/2 times the weight of my heli and a total of 25.3 lbs. This time,,the heli struggled (ya think?),,but again,,,I still had some pitch left. The motor seemed to drop down to maybe 85% judging by the sound of the motor alone. I used the stock Align blades because I fully expected something to go wrong(which it did,,,I'll spill those beans in a minute! )and I didn't want to trash my Radix blades. The heli was VERY difficult to fly,,,, I never lost control of it,,,but predicting the reaction of that weight was tough. I did get it back to me easily and that little dive at the end looks worse than it was,,,I was just making damned sure the jugs were down and close enough to land on my heli pad. I was pretty rattled by then and you can hear I buzzed the tail blades on my pad before I calmed down and landed it. It's all good,,,I'm throwing those tail blades away anywho(beans)! ;D Soooo,,,I know it will lift 20 lbs easily. How much more? I don't care,,,I'm done with this experiment,,,,I could go on and add more weight and eventuall find it's limit, but my nerves are shot and I don't want to risk my heli anymore on this venture. I have some floats ordered,,,heli-fishing is my next thing,,LOL OK,,,the BEANS--- I disconnected the rope, looked over the heli, threw the jugs aside, and took off to make sure my heli was ok. It was fine,,,stable,,,perfect. So I flipped it inverted and quickly realized I had not selected idle-up mode. Now,,,I'm getting a little better and confident so I'm doing my 'tricks' a little closer and a little 'lower',,,you can see where this is going! ;D Yup,,,,,I went inverted at less than 20 feet,,,,I quickly hit idle-up but the motor was just responding when I clipped the 'tall' grass. Hit throttle hold and went to check damages. The grass was tall,,,but wet so I have to dry him off to run it,,,,BUT,,,the ONLY visable damage was one busted tail blade. Everything looks fine,,the only component that got a little wet was the external BEC. It was still powered up when I got to it so I think all is well. Anyway,,,,I'm drinking a pot of coffee right now,,,then I'll go fly'n! WITHOUT the anchor!!! ;D

I go where no man has been before!!! ;D I have a lot of ideas,,,,like trolling for pike with my heli,,,I have floats on the way. And skis for the winter!! Gotta find some smoke canisters too!! A belly-mounted pellet gun,,,for squirrels!! Just mount a servo for the trigger!! Put some small wings on it and paint it up like a Goose! Then fly it over a drunk Yoopers goose blind!! I'll find something to do!!! ;D ( I have way too much time on my hands) Ain't that a bitch ?

Randy, that is some pretty cool stuff right there. I would be very impressed if you can shoot anything from the heli, but it would sure be cool. I saw a video where someone put a 9MM on their 600, pretty crazy if you ask me. Yet, if you can get a good first person view on a live screen and learn to fly like that, you might be able to line up a good squirrel shot. Great thing is, you're only getting started, can't wait to see what you come up with over the next few years. Also, I flew inverted while I was in normal mode the other day too, LOL! I felt like such an idiot after doing that. What a rookie mistake huh? Oh well, I'm hoping it'll teach me not to do it again.
