Y E A H ! ! ! ! !
Then when and if the water ever returns to my lake, I can refer to your stuff!!
Sounds awesome!
===========
You might have heard on national news about the lake I live on. Lake Travis in central Texas. They are now finding old cars that were dumped in the lake decades ago, from the lake's low levels.
The 'normal level' of Lake Travis is 681 feet above sea level (MSL). It is now at 637 MSL. This at least to me looks to be 44 feet or 13.4 meters below normal.
The lake is very near the lowest that it has ever been, dating back to the dam creation of the dam (pun intended) in the 1930's.
And there is zero rain in sight. This is the hottest summer on record to boot.
Oh yeah, and I live on this lake. My dock has been on the ground for over a year, and the little bit of water that was in it when I took the vids with the 450 IS GONE. It's quicksand a bit, though.
Bummer. Kent

Elk, can't wait to see the gator on floats. Biggest heli I've seen on floats is a 450.
Kent, I can't imagine the drought there and the low water levels. We've got an on going drought here in MN. Last year a lot of boats got stranded and it'll happen again this year.
Happy landings

Kent,
Major bummer,,,,I used to spend a lot of time on Lake Travis. I was stationed at Bergstrom AFB back in 1978 thru 1980. I loved that place!

Kent, Major bummer,,,,I used to spend a lot of time on Lake Travis. I was stationed at Bergstrom AFB back in 1978 thru 1980. I loved that place! That's amazing, Elk! As I'm sure you know, Bergstrom closed and became Austin's main airport. That was an amazing AF base. I flew RC planes out there during an air show where the Thunderbirds flew! I remember them flying T38's then, I think. They invited some of us from the Austin RC club to do an exhibition. Yeah, I flew RC planes that far back. Back then, I had friend who was also a fighter crew chief at Bergstrom. I can't remember his name. Dam. It was in the late 70's, too. They did have a lot of B52's and fighters back then. He was crew chief of the month and went up in something, I seem to remember an F4. He was sick for a month! He said they made him clean up after himself in the fighter! I can't imagine. Here's something you might remember. A neighbor of mine was an F4 pilot. He lived off base in Oak Hill, right next door to me. He was a wild man, too. Anyway, he was busted for throwing rooster tails off the beaches on the Gulf! The story was that he almost hit a LOT of folks on the beach. Anyway, he was booted from the Air Force. Poor dummazz... I was shocked that they paid pilots enough to live in nice homes in town. Take care, Kent

Ahhh,,,the good 'ol days. I was a Crew Chief on the OV-10 Bronco at Bergstrom. I got to fly a LOT. And,,I've had my pilots license since highschool. I flew with the base aero club,,,we would fly up to Lake Travis,,spend the day water skiing then fly back. When I left Bergstrom,,I started crewing F-4Es in the Philippines,,,then spent the next 16 years on F-4s,,,I got to fly them several times too. Like when I got into a dogfight in my F-4E against TWO F-16s over Korea,,,,OMG,,that was FUN. Got my a$$ kicked,,,,LOL!!
I wouldn't mind going back to Austin some day,,,I had fun there!!
