Thank god! Another BH450 owner! We are a rare breed ;D Should only take me 15 minutes or so to get her flying again, but I hope that there is nothing else damaged from the crash. I unplugged the motor and the servos seem ok, as well as the head and main gear/shaft. Time will tell I guess......... Just hope my parts show up soon! Living in Canada sucks sometimes eh ;D

nun, living in Canada may have some disadvantages when buying a heli or parts, postage etc., but a lot of positives too. Spent many a great time there East to West. So many and not enough!
What are your 450 components and set up? You have the 2.4 or the 72mHz?
Happy landings

Mine is the 2.4ghz, totally stock. Technically, I haven't even flown her because I had it delivered to my work when I got it, the twit I work with plugged the battery in and didn't have the TX on, so she hit the ceiling I had her on the shelf for quite a while until I learned more about it, but as far as I can tell I only have a bent spindle shaft and a broken ball link. The blades didn't even break! I ran a few tests and she seems ok, very tough heli and beautiful also. Hard to find parts for, except at Ka Planes. I know mine has a 30a ESC and 3500kv motor, like I said just a stock setup. Can't wait to actually fly her for the first time ;D Colin

Colin, I've got the 2.4, carbon frame and main rotors, CNC head, Sonix CNC tail, Super Skids with the 3500kV motor and 30 AMP ESC, Telebee and/or the BH G191 gyro and fiberglass canopy. The Tx is set up with the stock settings; which are fine for sport flying and mild 3D. I haven't messed with the software.
Actually, this is my second BH. The first one was damaged in shipping and Mike Jr. at kaPlanes repalced it with a new one with upgrades and let me keep the damaged one for parts. Nice guy. ;D
I've had a few problems. The tail belt kept coming off (The Sonix tail solved that issue) and a very weird power loss and tail kick and drop. I wasn't able to find the cause, so I sent it back to kaPlanes. It took Mike Jr. awhile to figure it out. With much tweaking and testing he found a couple of small things I hadn't been able to identify that fixed it. Since then the heli has been perfect.
I haven't needed any parts, but if I do I'll get them from kaPlanes.
Good luck on getting yours back in the air. I think you'll like it. It's very stable for a 450 yet plenty agile. A nice combination of characteristics for this size heli.
Happy landings

Nice nunya, very nice. And 19k, agreed on the waiting for parts comment. I'd say that waiting for parts is usually what keeps the helis down, but I think I might go bust out the HB and Blade CP now, this video made me remember that they can actually be fun.
If you can hover the HBFB, you'll be surprised at how much easier it is to fly the 450 size. The sound of the blades and the smoothness is a huge difference. Try to get out to a larger space when you bust out the 450 though.

Waiting on parts sucks. But at least I have other heli's I can practice with. I can't wait to bust out that 450 though! I have a HBK3 that I bring out at least once a day, and I love that heli. Not a lot of people have one but with the brushless setup and HH gyro, she is a joy to fly. SOOO much more stable than the HBFP but I am still a little intimidated by it, just doing tail-in hovers right now. As soon as I get the 450 repaired (hopefully this week) I will post a video so you can all laugh at the expression of complete terror on my face ;D Of course, a few months from now I can look back at this post and go "WHAT WAS I SO AFRAID OF???"
