Fergie,

I'm replacing both cyclic servos and the belt drive gear. I can't get the bottom servo out (there's no room to really remove it) - and I was hoping you could help me with replacing that blue belt drive gear. I really have no idea how to get it out.

yea the stock servos you pretty much have to split the frame alittle,
but i'll start with the belt gear,
first of all start by removing the boom, loosen your bottom cyclic servo, that should give you enough room to slip your belt over the forward gear. or pull the servo if room allows. (it will have to come out anyways)
then remove the screws holding the boom struts to the frame.
you can go ahead and and remove the screws holding the boom block, cause that will have to come out also.
next remove the main rotor head, and both gears.
now start removing frame bolts starting from the rear up to the main shaft bearing blocks, i like to leave the forward set of bolts in so the blocks don't go anywhere when i split the frame.
i would also snip the zip tie holding the RX and just lay it to the side you will want that out of the way, you shouldn't have to dis connect it.
hopefully i didn't miss anything

ohh and of course, reassembly is just the reverse ;D

Sorry guys, I was on the road for TV. Thanks for the tutorial. Andy from Xheli was kind enough to ship me out a new gear so I'm just waiting for it to arrive.

Hey Ferg,

Sorry I'm just getting back to you. All the teeth stripped off the gear. I'm assuming either the belt was too tight or it was the constant rubbing on the servo directly above it.

Lame.
